For some reason, a giant wave of fear rolled over the brown haired male as his head shot up, his green eyes meeting (y/n)'s (e/c) orbs, which seemed to almost glow in anger. "Since she died, you still seem to be head over heels for her. That bothers me."

Gulping, Makoto gave her a nervous smile. "It bothers you...? I-I mean, I'm not head over heels for her! I never were...!" His obvious lies made the secret mastermind huff and roll her eyes. "No, of course not! It's almost sad at how bad you're at lying."

Her sarcasm and cold voice made him shudder. "I thought you were interesting, but in the end, you're just as boring as all the other students." The (h/c) haired female let out a sigh, standing up and dusting off her clothes. "I'm boring...?" These words hit him hard, for some reason.

"Yes, you are the most boring person I've ever met! After all, your talent isn't really a talent, right? You got chosen by a wheel to get into Hope's Peak. How dare people call it a talent to be lucky?" Even though she was insulting him, she smiled sweetly.

"But don't worry, that's okay, Makoto!" (Y/n) grabbed his hands. "Because even though I'm only a reverse course student, I'm capable of doing more things than you. So if you stay with me, others will view you as interesting and talented, since they they'll think we're friends."

Too overwhelmed by the sadness brought by her words, the Ultimate Lucky Student wasn't capable of noticing the emotional manipulation that she used to boost her kind of weird logic, to achieve her goal of gaining his love and affection. "Aren't you feeling so extremely hopeful right now, Makoto?"

"Wh-What?" The brown haired male starred into her glowing (e/c) eyes, trying to find at least a small bit of comfort in them. And weirdly enough, they suddenly seemed so warm, even though her words were like daggers, stabbing right through his heart and stomach with their sharpness.

"You finally have the opportunity to be useful AND interesting! Together, we will be able to defeat Byakuya and save all the others! Aren't you so glad about that?" "W-Well, I kind of am, I guess... But why are you suddenly so different...?" "Because obviously, she is the mastermind here."

The sudden voice made the male jump, though (y/n) remained unfazed, only turning her head into the direction of the room's door. Pushing up his glasses, the Ultimate Affluent Progeny gave them a small smirk. "Don't think I haven't heard of your small plan to frame me for everything."

"What are you doing here, Byakuya?" The secret mastermind asked, completely emotionless. "Toko overhead your conversation and gave me all the information that I needed. One of you is pretty smart but one of you is nothing more than a dumb peasant." "What do you mean?" Makoto's eyes widened.

'She can't be... But it suddenly all makes sense...' He thought, looking at the girl who was deep in thought. "Let's be smart and tell the other students about this, Naegi. Or do you want everyone here to die, just because of some girl that you just met a few days ago?"

"You're... You're right..." Makoto replied, much to (y/n)'s disappointment. "What do you mean, Makoto? Why do you suddenly believe him, and not me?" Her eyes narrowed. "I'm sorry, (y/n)... But I can't let you kill more innocent people... You need to be stopped, so we all can feel hope again...!"
