"Shut it off, Lindsey." Stevie covered her face with her hand, shielding her eyes from the television set as best she could.

"I can't find the remote." He shifted on the couch, one hand slipping into the cushions to search for it.

Letting out a sharp gasp, she turned her head quickly. "Lindsey, turn it!" Stevie begged as she tried to drown out the sound of the loud yells and horrible music. "Hurry, it's gonna get him!" She grabbed ahold of his shirt, trying to burying her face in his arm so she wouldn't see.

"It's over." He was trying hard not to laugh as he finally pulled the remote out from behind of the throw pillows.

"Promise?" She mumbled, slowly peeking out to check.

"I promise." Lindsey couldn't help but grin as he felt her slip her arm around his torso to snuggle in closer.

"I'm not letting you pick the movies we watch anymore." Her heart was still pounding as she sank into her husband a little more to get comfortable once again... It seemed impossible after that nightmare.

The sound of the front door opening caused them both to jump, Stevie even letting out a soft squeak. "Anyone home?" Levy's voice rang through the foyer as he trailed further into the dark house.

Sitting up slowly, Stevie gave her son a soft smile once he'd flipped on the big living room light. "Hi, sweetheart." She wiggled her fingers, a very light gasp escaping her when the wobbly baby trailed into the living room right behind his father.

"There's papas little dude." Lindsey let go of his wife to hold out his hands for Liam.

But of course, like always, the baby went right for Stevie instead. "He wants his Mimi." She gave Lindsey a playful grin as she helped their grandson up onto on the couch with them.

"He was asking about you all the way here." Levy laughed, grabbing a handful of popcorn off the coffee table before he took a seat in the accent chair across the room.

"Did you have a good day?" Stevie's voice grew softer, that stereo typical baby voice setting in instantly. "Did you go to the park?" She was asking the baby, but she was really asking her son since Liam couldn't quite talk yet.

"We went to the park and then we went to the restaurant to visit Janie and aunt Elise." He looked totally exhausted... life with a one year old wasn't always rainbows and butterflies, that's for sure.

"Sounds like fun." Lindsey smiled softly when Liam wrapped an arm around his neck to give him a hug.

"Where's Ev?" Levy wondered, just then realizing that it was far too quiet around there.

"She has a couple of friends over." The blonde's eyes stayed locked with the baby's as she lightly bounced him up and down. "They're upstairs, listening to their loud music." She added with a simple shrug.

Stevie really tried not to be too nosey when it came to Evee. Of course she wanted to know who her daughter was hanging out with and she was pretty notorious for asking a lot of questions, but she also felt like taking a step back sometimes was beneficial for everyone... She was trying, she really was and sometimes it was hard.

"Snack?" He knew a few words- only the important ones, of course.

With a little giggle, Stevie nodded her head a tad. "Let's go to the kitchen and find you a snack." She tossed the throw blanket from her legs to slowly push herself off the couch.

"Thank you, mama." Levy's lips turned up lightly, thankful that she was always so helpful.

She was a hero, she really was. When the baby had a fever, they called Stevie to make sure they were on the right track. When something came up and they needed a sitter, she was the first person they asked. And when either of them just needed a break, which many parents do on the occasion, Stevie was always right there, ready to help them out.

She was the best, even if she was taken for granted more often than not.

It wasn't until she and Liam had disappeared into the kitchen when Levy pushed himself forward to speak to his father in a hushed tone. "Did Kara call you?" His voice was low, hoping his mother wouldn't catch it from the kitchen.

Rolling his eyes lightly, Lindsey just kind of shook his head. "What happened?" He knew it to had to have been bad if she called Levy... She never called them willingly, ever.

"I guess, Crosby's been having some problems." He shrugged his shoulders as he wrinkled a brow lightly.

Lindsey didn't mean to scoff, but it just sort of came out. "What's new?" He wasn't being mean, he really wasn't- he was being honest... It was always something with that kid, it had been for years.

Sinking back in the chair slowly, a defeated sigh filled the air around them. "She didn't really go into much detail, but she said that he's too afraid to ask mom for help." Levy was just the messenger... He didn't ask many questions and he didn't get the whole story either.

"What does he need her help with?" Lindsey knew it had to be pretty important if he was needing his mother... Crosby rarely ever admitted when he needed help, especially not Stevie's help.

"I think he might be drinking... " that wasn't shocking to hear, not in the slightest. "And I mean, like a lot." Levy added, almost certain of himself.

"Oh, shit." He fell back into the couch, trying hard not to roll his eyes as he brought a hand up to his face. "I-" just as he was getting ready to reply, the sound of Stevie and Liam chatting became more apparent, which meant their conversation was over.

"We found a snack." Stevie had the baby on her hip and a pack of muffins in her hand as she carefully ventured back into the room. "Everything okay?" She creased an eyebrow when she realized how quiet it had gotten... She could hear muffled voices from the kitchen- she knew they'd been talking.

Glancing over at his dad, Levy saw that look lingering in his eyes. "Oh, we were just talking about our golf trip." He was trying to play it off cool, but when Lindsey's mouth fell open he knew that was also underwraps.

"Oh?" Stevie looked over at her husband, giving him that look. "A golf trip? I didn't know about a golf trip..."

"I'm nervous." Everleigh whispered as she held the curtains back for her friend, who was half way out the second story window. "My mom will freak out if she comes up here and we're gone." She added, heart sinking instantly as she thought of her mother... she would be totally panicking.

"Evee, chill out." Lauren was standing close behind her as she watched Maria step off onto the vine. "Your parents are probably asleep, don't worry about it."
