Aiden wrapped us both in warm blankets and Asa stayed in my arms.

"Sorry for the absence of a crib. Must be tiring to carry him around like that."

"Not as tiring , and definitely not as nauseating as the fact that we're here and those teenagers are playing butchers and murderers."

Jim remained quiet that evening.

The morning after...

I woke up at 8 with Asa's saliva coating my striped long shirt. Jim helped Aiden prepare breakfast.

"What do you think caused all this? That consultant brought war upon our land."

"Doesn't give me a reason not to trust him. Some parents just aren't the most fit for their part. Murder, treason, trafficking. Can't see anything bad in what he was saying."

"But you've experienced it! The amount of parents that would kill their next of kin can be counted by the fingers of one hand. To add insult to injury, it was an accidental breathing, A fucking accident!"

"Shut the fuck up, alright?"

Ding-dong

Some men in tactical outfits came to Aiden's flat carrying Class 4 weapons. It was Mr. Garrison and his troop. The notoriously infamous mercenary trusted by many. This sparked great confusion in both of us.

"Everything good?"

"Yeah. New inhabitants, nothing to report."

"You kidnapped our parents! You kidnapped our parents, you pig fuckers!"

"And you're on their side? Fuck!"

"Let the man go, youngin."

I begged Jim to stop

"Hands where i can see 'em."

"We'll check in again, keep an eye on the children." Mr. G said as he gave Jim a disgusted look.

"I have my reasons."

We sat down to discuss what had just happened.

"I've paid Mr. Garrison an amount to track down someone we are both mutually interested in to take down. In return to his agreement to keep my name out of this hunt, he has told me to keep watch of whatever's going down here and not to help him on this one."

"You're not worthy of your life!"

"The man is a very close associate of Dr. Atblume's. I have valid reasons to believe that he has both a very large involvement in this epidemic and that he..murdered someone very dear to me and helped destroy my life."

"But wasn't in Atblume who announced all his findings?! Set this in motion?"

"I know, I know. Take my word for this one."
