I envy

Chapter 2

With everyone already in class,Xander O'Connor is Holding onto Garret Wilder's neck everything feels like it's in slow motion, as if everything is frozen to Maisie, she watches as Xander bangs Garret's head onto the floor, blood splatters all the way up her locker and all over the hall, She stares as Xander drops Garret and tells his friends that if anyone says anything they will end up like this if not worse.

Garret's friends grab him and take him to the bathroom to help clean him up, hoping that he's okay and that no one will notice. Xander Puts his arm around Maisie and walks her to the bathroom he grabs a paper towel and starts cleaning the blood off her clothes, Both extremely late to class,
Maisie watches and Xander cleans off her shoes and pants, "Give me your shirt" he says to her, "my what?!" "Your shirt, give it to me." He asks, Xander O'Connor is tall and built for being a football player, and with most girls they would have no questions but Maisie too some convincing without wanting to cause problems she took it off.

Xander takes off his shirt and hands it to her, "wear this, I don't care if you keep it or not", with his shirt in her hands standing in the women's bathroom she stands staring, "I- uh thanks!" She says as she slips on this shirt that is too big for her, "what are you doing with my shirt?" She asks, "I'm going to get the stains out of it for you and you can have it back tomorrow." She heads off to class and head straight to her seat in the back of class.

Xander finishes up in the bathroom and leaves her shirt in his locker, being shirtless he makes his way to class and sits down. "Mr O'Connor, where is your shirt!?" His teacher asks him, "I gave it to somebody, ma'am" he replies, she sends him to go find a shirt in the lost and found, at the end of class Xander gets crowded by girls trying to ask questions and staring at him, as he shoves his way to the hallway, the principal Mr Wilder is standing there with his arms crossed, " Mr O'Connor, a moment in my office." He says looking very displeased.

They reach his office and sitting inside is Garret and his friends, "so would you like to explain this?" Mr Wilder says, Xander sits looking at Garret and they share a glance but as soon as Garret meets Xanders eyes he looks away. They sit getting questions forced down their throat but no one will answer any questions, finally after about an hour he lets them go and they go their separate ways.

Maisie heads back to her locker to put away her stuff and get ready to leave, Three girls walk up to her and start asking her where she got that shirt, Maisie has always felt alone and like an out cast of the bunch so having them walk up to her and ask about something of hers was very new to her.  She explained that something got on her shirt and she traded it to somebody else, the girls looked her up and down and laughed at her as they walked aw.

She starts to think .."Xander O'Connor.. he's cute, and tall... His voice is so deep.
No. I'm not going to fall for some piece of trash. But he's cute trash..." Maisie waits to get on the bus as people get picked up by their parents.. " I envy the people who's parents pick them up. Who laugh and joke with them and can talk to them, I just wish..."  Maisie goes home back to her broken home and piled up school work to just do it all again tomorrow.
