That night I dreamt of coming home. My father greeted me with open arms and all the staff in the castle applauded as I smiled at them but something felt off...
I heard a faint groan and snapped my head to the side to follow the sound. I saw Orion and the crew in chains getting dragged towards the gallows.
„Noo wait!" i exclaimed and jerked forwards but my father held me back. „You can't do that, they are good men!"
„All pirates are scum!"
„Amelia...Amelia wake up!" a faint voice was heard in the distance and my eyes shot open. I was met with Orion's face only a few inches away from mine, his eyebrows furrowed in concern.
„Relax, it was just a dream, you're safe" he whispered and removed a strand of hair from my face, softly tucking it behind my ear.
I blinked and moved one hand up to rub my eye.
„Orion you can't bring me home, you-you don't know what's gonna happen. They're gonna hurt you and the crew and-and" I stuttered and sat up.
„What are you talking about?" he asked and sat up.
„In my dream, I went home and my father demanded for you and the crew to be hanged, I can't let that happen" I hurried to say.
„It was just a dream, luv. Don't worry, we are prepared to not be welcomed with open arms by your father but trust me, they're not going to hang us. I have a plan" he said and smiled reassuringly.
„You do want to go home, do you?"
„Yes" I nodded.
Why did I say that so quickly? I wasn't entirely sure anymore, I've grown to like the pirate life, I must say. Although I do miss regular baths and festive meals and other luxuries...
I could've sworn a hint of hurt flashed his eyes but he quickly covered it up with that beautiful smile of his.
„Then we better make the most of your last two days of the pirate life" he said and got up, reaching for my hand.
„After a few more minutes relaxation I chuckled, grasped his hand and pulled him back into the bed.
„Of course we can also enjoy the pirate life from right here" he smirked and pulled me closer to him before kissing me passionately.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled into the kiss.
If that's the pirate life, I'm in.
