As soon as Jungkook entered the room, Jimin’s worried eyes met his.
"How’s it going?" Jimin asked softly, his voice tinged with concern.
He had been anxious the entire time, ever since Jungkook left to meet Yugyeom. It had been four hours, and when Jungkook hadn’t answered his calls, Jimin’s worry only grew.
Now, seeing Jungkook’s dull, sad pheromones lingering in the air, Jimin’s heart sank further. The atmosphere around Jungkook was heavy with sorrow, and it didn’t take much for Jimin to realize that things had not gone well.
Jimin reached out to grab Jungkook’s hand, hoping to offer him some comfort, but to his dismay, Jungkook pushed his hand away. The rejection stung deeply, leaving Jimin feeling awful and confused. He watched as Jungkook, with a heavy heart, turned and walked towards Yoongi’s room—now Jungkook’s room. The way Jungkook avoided his touch hurt more than Jimin could put into words, making him feel more distant than ever.
Jimin stood there for a moment, his heart heavy as he watched Jungkook disappear into Yoongi’s room. He wanted to follow, to talk things through, to hold Jungkook and reassure him that they would find a way through this, but the walls between them felt thicker than ever. Instead, Jimin quietly retreated to his own room, feeling the growing distance like a physical ache in his chest.
As the hours passed, the silence in the house grew heavier. Jungkook had locked himself in Yoongi's room, not coming out for lunch or dinner, and had made no attempt to communicate with anyone, including Jimin. The solitude was suffocating, and Jimin felt more isolated than ever. Sitting alone in his own room, Jimin’s eyes brimmed with tears.
He hated the silence, the way it seemed to mock him, emphasizing the emotional distance between him and Jungkook.“You still love him, of course, you do...” Jimin murmured to himself, his voice cracking with the weight of his emotions. The realization that Jungkook’s love for Yugyeom was still so strong left him feeling like an outsider in his own life. It was as if he was competing against a ghost, someone who had never truly left their lives but was always lingering just out of reach. Jimin pulled his knees to his chest, the tears finally spilling over as he buried his face in his hands. The hurt and confusion were overwhelming, making it hard to breathe, to think clearly. The silent room seemed to close in on him, amplifying his feelings of abandonment and sorrow.
Jungkook, spoke through the door, his voice strained with emotion. "Give me time," he pleaded, hoping Jimin could understand the turmoil he was facing. It was difficult to navigate the end of a two-year relationship with Yugyeom, and the mixed feelings he had for both Yugyeom and Jimin were overwhelming.
Jungkook struggled to reconcile his past with his present. His heart was torn between the love he had for Yugyeom and the deep bond he felt with Jimin. He tried to commit fully to his new relationship, but Yugyeom still held a significant place in his heart. The sight of Yugyeom’s sad face, now a memory, was something Jungkook wished to avoid, but he knew he couldn’t escape the consequences of his actions.
He knew that fate had brought him and Jimin together, and he hoped that eventually, Yugyeom would find a way to accept the situation. For now, Jungkook needed Jimin to understand the complexity of his feelings and the difficult process of moving on from his past.
"I know this is hard," Jungkook continued, his voice wavering, "but I need time to figure things out. I need to come to terms with everything that’s happened and find a way to make this work. Please, just give me some time."
On the other side of the door, Jimin listened, his heart aching as he processed Jungkook’s words. The pain of seeing Jungkook struggle with his past and his current emotions was nearly unbearable. Jimin wanted to support Jungkook, but the silence and distance between them made it difficult to know how to help.
