May 25th, 1965.

Patti, enjoying her time in Jay's garden, was wearing sunglasses and, like Elvis used to be, wigs.

It was a pain in the ass, but it was necessary for her to have inner peace. The weather was wonderful  for May so she took her daughter for a short walk sometimes. Gladys was a joyful and sweet child, unaware of her mother's nightmare.

Patti held her in her arms and sang softly to her. Gladys looked at her mother with big blue eyes like her father's and smiled at her. When Patti saw her daughter's face, she knew Elvis couldn't find them.

She kissed Gladys on the chubby cheek and felt the determination, stronger than ever.

He threatened to take my daughter from me. I'll never let that happen, I'd rather smash his skull.

Yes, daughter was most important to her and Patti felt ready for anything, even a bloody fight with Elvis.

Money is not everything. There are good people who don't care about your fame, Elvis, and they'll hide me. You'll never ... find us.

She was reluctant to deprive him of an opportunity to participate in their daughter's life, but if Elvis did not seek appropriate help, he would.

The child's happiness was paramount, and if one parent was going to be mentally unstable and cause future emotional damage to their daughter, she preferred Elvis to disappear.

Patti didn't notice that someone was watching her from a distance. Ever since Jay became her confidant, the man feared for the safety of his new friend. He hired two bodyguards and installed surveillance equipment, but he still felt a subcutaneous dread.

Jay ran his fingers over his mouth, reflecting. He was in the kitchen, staring through the glass at Patricia and Gladys.

Patti was in his house all the time, never going out. Jay was still healing his wounds after Sharon left, but he was free. Maybe Patti was still somebody's wife and she had to go into hiding, but you could arrange for her to get out safely.

Jay thought of his new friend, actor Bruce Lee, who had recently invited him to a private party at his house. Bruce's house was a stronghold, and no prying nose could see it. Besides, only Jay and Lee family were to be there.

Patti could relax a bit and meet Bruce's wife, lovely Linda, and their little son Brandon.

Yes, that's a good thought, Jay thought gladly. Not to admit it, but Patti reminded him a lot of Sharon. And she was also very attractive.

Jay frowned and chased these thoughts away. He couldn't view Patti as a potential future girlfriend, she was just a friend. Jay didn't want any serious relationships yet - he still loved Sharon, but her departure hurt a lot and he had a temporary grudge against any relationship.

However, I like helping people. And Patricia needs faith that she will build her life anew.

Elvis was in a hotel room and looked at his watch. Charlie was due to deliver him some beautiful brunette in an hour, while Elvis was waiting for a call from Detective Knight.

Eventually the pager started spinning and Elvis quickly picked it up.

— Hello? — Elvis felt his heart beat faster. He was sure Knight had Patti's current whereabouts for him.

— Hello, Mr. Presley.

— Do you have what I need for me?

— Yes. I know where your wife and daughter are.
