"Where do you want this?" Ryder questions, his face strained and red.

"Oh, um, just over there" I point to a corner of the bedroom. He sets the dresser down on the ground with a loud thud.

The old house creaks underneath the floorboards at the heavy weight. Sage had filled in all the holes in the walls and floor a few weeks ago, as well as fixing the front steps that lead to the porch and oiled the gate.

As for Class and my family, I hadn't heard anything from them, except that Max is now the leader of Class, I could only hope he rules nothing like Sir Walter.

I flinch when the creak of the floor is heard from behind me and an arm is thrown over my shoulders.

"It's looking nice in here" Ivy says as her remaining arm is still in a sling against her chest. Her eyes drag over Gunner as he sets one of the bedside tables down, his muscles bulging.

I laugh and shrug her off when she pretends to wipe the drool from her lips. Gunner turns around once he hears her laughter and starts towards her.

"What're you doing here?" he asks, wrapping his arms around her.

"Thought I'd drop in and see how things are going" she answers with a smile. He kisses the top of her head before leaving the room and going out to the truck to gather more of our belongings.

Ivy sighs dramatically "I'm going to miss you at the house" she says as she lays her head on my shoulder.

"We're just around the corner" I laugh "and you and Gunner will get Sage's room" I point out the positives of us leaving. It had been agreed that Gunner and Ivy will move into Sage's old room while Penelope will take up residence in Ivy's old room.

"Yeah, that'll be nice" she smiles.

"Fucking watch it" the growl from outside is heard loud and clear, my body tingling just from his presence.

"I've got it" Ryder argues back. Sage must've just got back with the Jeep from getting another load of our belongings from the house. We'd been at it for a few hours now, Sage and I don't have a lot of things but the Jeep only allows for a limited amount of items to be transferred at once.

Heavy boots stumble through the hallway, reaching the bedroom as Ryder appears, struggling to carry the other bedside table. Sage follows shortly after with the bed frame, he makes the heavy object look weightless.

He carries it under one arm while the other swings free by his side.

"Ivy" he gives a nod 'hello' to her.

"Hi, Rage" she grins and moves out of the doorway so that he can enter the bedroom. He stops briefly before entering to give the side of my ass a pat in his own type of hello.

A thud on the floorboards draws our attention to Ryder as he drops the bedside table the last few centimetres to the floor.

"Aye!" Sage grunts. Ryder makes a face and raises his arms in surrender. Ivy and I try our best to hide our laughter. "Should've had Gabe help out" Sage talks to himself.

Gabe had stayed back at the house, claiming he was busy. In realty he stayed back to help Penelope move into her room. Both will deny it but they had formed some kind of bond over the past weeks Penelope had been in Lawless, after she got over her fear of him.

Sage puts the bedhead against the wall in the middle of the room, where we had decided the bed will go.

We still had to buy a bunch of things, espically for the kitchen but for the time being what we have is enough.

"Ivy!" Gunner calls from outside just as Ryder leaves the bedroom. I briefly hear Ryder and Sage conversing in the background.

"I'll see you later" Ivy gives my arm a squeeze before following Ryder out the front door, it slams shut behind them.
