Josie's pov

"What the hell did you do dad?" I yelled at my dad. "I did what I had to." My dad said. I was going to yell at him some more but I realized that the white oak stake usually bursts into flames along with the original's body when an original is staked. I looked over at Hope and saw the stake melting. "Um is that supposed to happen?" I asked my dad pointing at Hope confused. My dad's eyes went wide as he looked at the now fully melted white oak stake which was now a white oak puddle. "No it isn't." My dad finally said with fear lacing his voice. I saw hope's beautiful ocean blue eyes open and the next thing I knew Hope launched herself at my dad.

Hope's pov

I was sleeping peacefully after Josie and I had sex all night when I was suddenly awoken by a loud heartbeat. I slowly opened my eyes thinking it was Josie's. But my eyes widened as I saw Ric standing over me with a white oak stake in his hands. Before I could do anything he plunged it into my heart and I died. "Hello again hope I wasn't expecting you back so soon. But then again you are the tribrid and you have inherited your family's enemies." Death said. "Tell me death is this going to happen every time I die?" I asked her. "What our little conversations?" She asked me. "Yeah." I said. "Yes every time you die your spirit will come here until you wake up." Death said. "Ok good to know also Ric better watch out cause now I'm pissed." I said. Then I passed out and when I woke up I was back in the school. With a melted puddle of what I'm assuming was the white oak stake. I felt my fangs come out as my eyes turned red and the veins under my eyes started pulsating.

I launched myself at Alaric and punched him in the stomach and then kneed him in the balls. As he was bent over in pain I smiled I was about to sink my fangs into his neck when a voice stopped me. "I see I missed a lot." The voice said causing everyone in the room to look towards the door. "Mom!?" Josie yelled as she got out of bed and ran to her mother hugging her. "Hello sweetheart." Caroline said. Once Josie let go of her mother she turned towards Ric with a look of disappointment. "Ric I think we need to have a talk in the office now!" Caroline said sternly and angrily. "Hope you and my daughter can go back to bed if you want sorry about Ric." Caroline said as she grabbed Ric by the ear and dragged him out of the room. Jo and I were about to go back to bed when suddenly Jo ran to our bathroom and threw up. I vamped to her and held her hair back as she emptied her stomach. I rubbed her back until she finished once she did I brought her face up and leaned her head on my chest we sat in silence for a few minutes. "You ok Jo?" I asked breaking the silence. "Yeah just not feeling well this morning you know after seeing you dead again." She said then she kissed me and stood up. "Well shall we head to bed." I said as I stood up grabbing her hands. She nodded her head then we got back into my bed and went to sleep.

Caroline's pov

I threw Ric into his office angrily. "What the hell Alaric I left you in charge of this school because you told me you could handle it and that you would protect the students and our daughters." I yelled at Ric. "And like I said back then I can handle it." Ric said. "Well if that were true I wouldn't have had to hear about hope's death from Rebecca." I said pissed that Ric would keep something like that from me. "Why are you here anyway I thought you were looking for a cure to the merge?" Ric asked me trying to change the subject. "I was looking for a cure but then I ran into Rebecca. Who informed me of what happened to her niece something I was unaware of. She told me Hope had died and she hadn't woken up yet. So I followed up with the lead I was chasing and then booked a flight here it took a bit longer than expected." I said. "And if you call what I walked into you handling things then you and I have very different definitions of the word handling." I said. I took a deep breath as I tried to regain my composure. "On my way here I also ran into Damon and Elena you know the people who's house this belongs to. Anyways I spoke with them regarding your ability to run this school and protect the students or lack there of and they told me about your emergency plans." I said.
