Chapter Eight:

(WIN)

Sigh.

"That was the 10th time you sighed in a span of this past four hours Win"

I turned to look at the person who said that from my back and found that it was Mike. He took a step closer to me and gave me a pat on my shoulder.

"What's wrong?"

He asked worriedly.

"I....I was just thinking to get another part time job"

I said and saw the door opened where Gun had been standing and seems like he's listening to us.

"Seriously Win? Does the Chivaaree's starve you or what?"

Gun asked.

"No!"

I protested. What kind of nonsense is that.

"You know, this will be our last year in High School. I have to save up for my college tuition, you know that I never want to put more burden to Mom and Dad and that's the reason why I've been zoning out"

Well that's the truth anyway. I've been thinking to save some money so I can pay my own tuition and also to get an apartment this coming school year. I want to be independent and besides I want to leave the house as soon as possible. Yes I made up my mind....

"Aren't you being too hard on yourself? The couple doesn't seems like you're a burden to them in the first place. Think about it Win. They raise you ever since you're a kid and i---"

"That's why I want to be independent. I couldn't stay there and let them do everything for me. That was the least thing I can do for them"

"But Win....."

Mike started but I had enough.

"I'm doing myself a favor. I know that I have to do something with this one sided love of mine"

I said almost a whisper. They both looked to each other before letting their gazes fall on to me again.

"If that's what your decision then it's fine with us. Just know that we're always here for you"

Gun said patting my head as I nodded.

******

I'm busy scrolling down my phone while walking on the corridor so I'm not even surprised that I bumped into someone. Using my phone while walking is not my thing but it's just that I'm too caught up browsing on the page where I'm looking for a part time job.

"I'm sorry"

I apologized as I looked at the person I bumped with. And it happened to be Nami.

"No it's fine. But walking without looking where you're going is dangerous Win"

"Yeah I'm sorry about that"

She smiled.

"By the way are you going to your class right now?"

"No. I'm going to the cafeteria"

"Oh great! Can I go with you? I'm actually thinking to grab some drink. Bright forgot to buy me one"

I just want to roll my eyes at that. Does she really need to say that? And why would Bright do that anyway? I think I might need a 'friend' like that too. I love free things!

"Is that so? Then let's go together"

And that's what we did. While we're on our way back to our building I saw her looking at my phone curiously.
