Prologue
"Lexi!" Hunter yelled. "Where are you? Lexi!"
Lexi ignored him and ran further into the woods. She couldn't let anyone see her. Not even Hunter, her lover.
She knew if he saw her he'd try to make her go back. Back home, where she would be forgotten again.
"Lexi! Please come out!"
Maybe I'm not in here, Lexi thinks. I don't want you. I don't want anyone. Just leave, Hunter, go.

The sky darkens and Lexi settles down to fall asleep on a bed of damp leaves, as the frigid wind blows through the trees.
Maybe she should have gone with Hunter. Oh, well, it was too late now. He probobly went to look somewhere else. Somewhere far from here.
Lexi stares at the stars through the bare branches on the trees above. I want you now, Hunter. Please come back now. A tear trickles down from Lexi's wanting eyes. She really needed Hunter, really needed him now.
