[VESPER'S POV]

The thumping of nervous feet intertwined with the messy voices of the wizards that were rushing to their lessons, were all that could be heard. Shoulders kept bumping against each other, creating an anxious atmosphere. I do not like all the fuss about school. Everyone is so obsessed about it for nothing. My legs kept moving slowly, my mind not feeling like learning about how to brew a potion. I saw a familiar mane of dark brown hair two steps away from me. Before I even had to control my body, I was already next to the girl. I grabbed her hand, pulling her away from the center of the crowded hall.

" What the.. Vesper? What are you doing ?" Odessa asked confusedly, her eyebrows pushed together, creating a frown on her face.

"Calm down, I just want to talk to you." I said, looking at her pleadingly. I hoped I didn't scare her.

"Are you okay ? What do you want to talk about ?" She wondered, taking a step in my direction to examine me.

"I'm fine... For now, because if you don't skip class with me, I'll cry." I said, a grin pulling my lips upwards.

Odessa raised an eyebrow, her eyes slightly moving as she thought. She had always been worried about school and the nervous look on her face only reflected that. I placed my head on her shoulders, looking straight in her brown eyes. I then, pouted my lips dramatically and beat my eyelashes. She gave me a glare, which only resulted in me continuing my silent begging.  She crossed her arms and announced : "Fine, I'll skip with you... but if we get caught, I will claim that you kidnapped me." I nodded, giving her hair a shake. She only huffed at me, a slight smile on her face. I couldn't help but grin at her expression. Then, I offered my hand to the girl. She took it and I pulled her in a run. Our legs moved rapidly, attempting to leave the school without getting caught. When we finally walked through the grand maroon door, our pace slowed down. I could hear her heavy breathing next to me.

"What now ?" Odessa demanded, leaning down as the palms of her hands laid on her knees.

"Let's go to the Black Lake" I advanced, taking in a deep breath as my heartbeat eased gradually. She simply nodded. We started to walk to the pond of water silently. I appreciated times like this. Odessa acting like she didn't want to hang out and me begging her to. In the end, our meetings could last till four in the morning which would usually lead us to sit sleepily on the grass dampened by the morning dew, admiring the dusk.

We sat down on the ground, the sunlight reflecting on the calm water. She laid, her hair surrounding her head like a crown. Her umber eyes met mine as she lifted her face.

" Did you bring it ?" Odessa asked.

I reached for it in my pockets and shoved the object in her face, she smiled gently. I opened the Walkman, inserting a tape in it carefully. I laid next to her, handing her the headphones. I pressed play and the joyful instrumental boomed in our ears. She closed her eyes and started to sway her head to "Sugar Daddy" by Fleetwood Mac. I saw her lips move as she sang the lyrics. A grin adorned my face and I joined the girl. The songs flowed and soon the record stopped rolling. I sighed, not wanting this moment to end. I had to hold on to this forever. I sat up and slipped my coat open, grabbing one of the most important things in my life. My camera. Her eyes quickly widened in realization, used to my habits. The girl hid her face in the palms of her hands. I chuckled, bringing the camera to my eyes as I captured the view before me. I found it funny how she thought she would ruin the photo. I believed she was incapable of ruining anything. She peeked between her fingers, to check if the photography was over. Odessa stood up, facing me as she smiled playfully, thinking she saved herself from being pictured. I let her believe what she wanted, but I knew the truth. This photo captured the moment, and the moment was perfect. Without a word, we walked back to the castle.
