Breaking News local boy found dead in a local residential home. No evidence found. Police are still looking for suspects.
She woke up and looked around her room. It was Sunday so her mom was at church and her father... well drunk. She turned on her tv and the news was showing Luke's school picture. She looked shocked. It wasn't a dream... She listened as they reported there are no leads to who killed him and she sighs. Thank God... She lays back on her bed and sighs. The front door opens downstairs and her mom walks in.
"Raven?"
"Yes?"
"Can you come down? I'd like to talk to you."
Her eyes widen in fear. Crap she knows... She knows I snuck out! She's figured it out! She walks downstairs.
"Did you hear about the boy from your school?" Her mom put away her stuff then looked at Raven. Raven nodded. "Ok well I want you to stop riding the bus to school... it's too dangerous with a killer on the loose I'll take you. " Raven nods.
"Yes ma'am. "
"You can go back to your room now unless you want to help make breakfast..."
"No thanks mom." Raven ran upstairs and shut her door and let out a sigh. Edgar screeched in the corner of her room. "Shut up you kill stuff too." She layer down and started to doze off. I'm safe...
There was a knock on her bed room door.
"Raven I need you to come downstairs." Her mom's voice sounded urgent. Raven got up and opened the door and followed her mom to the dinning room. At the table sat two police officers notepads. One was tall and scrawny, the other looked like he could lay off the doughnuts and coffee.
"Raven please sit" the scrawny one said. She sat across from them. "Raven Poe, age 16... and a average grade point student. You seem like a good girl Raven."
"I try my best sir." The officer smiles.
"I'm officer Campbell this is officer Johnson we just want to ask you a few questions about your friend Luke Sanders."
"Yes I heard about that this morning... Do you know what happened?" She puts on a sad face. "I knew him from school and it's a shock... I never thought that would happen in this town."
"Did you know Leo well? We interviewed his friends and they say you and Leo... didn't get along." Raven clenched her fist under the table.
"Leo was, for lack of words, a bully. He tried to get me heated up and angry."
"Did you guys ever physically fight?"
"He had pushed me and had his friends push me around but he was smart enough to leave no marks."
"And did you ever think of getting revenge?" Raven thought for a moment and looked down sympathetically.
"No... I figured he picked on me cause he was lonely and had problems in his life... I also hate the thought of hurting someone just for there words..."
"Okay..." The officer takes some notes. "Where were you last night?"
"I was here at home with my father I was in my room watching tv."
"Yes your father said that so alibi matches up. Sorry for the inconvenience Raven we hope you have a good day. Stay strong." The officers stand up and nod at her mother before leaving. Raven just shook her head.
"They thought I killed him?!"
"Well honey they just want to cover all ground..." Her mom put her hand on her shoulder. She ran upstairs and locked her door.
"Good girl? Ha. They want a suspect I'll give them one." She opened up her yearbook and found the picture of Luke and put an "x" over him then she flipped through finding a picture of her old childhood friend. "May Tanner, such a shame you forgot all your real friends for the popular ones... I guess you need a reminder we're still here..." She circled her face as one word echoed through her head. Nevermore.
