Alcina Dimitrescu never planned for this to happen.

Not once did she ever see herself becoming enchanted by a human and keeping said human a secret from Mother Miranda. She had never betrayed the woman in such a way, she would have never done such a thing.

So why were you so special?

The woman of House Beneviento takes notice of how quiet her elder 'sister' is on this visit. Usually the woman would, at the very least, offer commentary on the dressings as she worked; sometimes she would talk with her like normal siblings would. If she had to pick between all of her siblings, Alcina was likely her favorite of the three. She was always, for the most part, kind to her; she'd never made the woman feel out of place for the scar on her face.

So, Donna was prone to observation of the woman, and noticing the silence from her sister was quite easy to do.

"Is something bothering you, sister?" Donna questions, her soft voice nearly startling the taller woman from her thoughts. "If today is a bad time, I can always come back next week."

Alcina clears her throat, shaking her head in disapproval at the statement, "no," she begins. "My mind was just preoccupied, Donna, please carry on."

The smaller woman debates questioning further, often so troubled with her own thoughts that she had no one to confide in but her dolls. She knows Alcina has her daughters, but surely she could be of some assistance, just this once. But at the same time she doesn't want to overstep with Alcina Dimitrescu of all people. Sometimes, the woman was frightened when she was angry.

"Even through that veil I can sense you're troubled," Alcina comments, surprising the woman in black.

"I apologize, I was just wondering if you had something on your mind...that you would like to converse about?"

Alcina sighs, taking a long slow sip of her wine. "I find myself baffled by my own actions, something very unlike myself."

Donna nods gently, an action almost unseen thanks to her veil, but the observant woman catches it. She snips a piece of cloth before answering, quickly gathering it between her fingers before it can touch the ground. "Yes, that does sound a bit peculiar for you. You're always so confident, I'm quite envious of you in that way."

Alcina hums, amused. Her thoughts wander back to the curious little human inhabiting her home; why have you been so fascinating to her? Ever since the night you stumbled inside her castle soaked to the bone and shivering, chuckling at yourself for forgetting to tell her your name, you'd occupied a space in her head. She can't pinpoint a favorite thought, if she's honest with herself.

She does adore the way you laugh, the sound is filled with life and hiccuped little pants for air when you laugh for too long. And she must admit your eyes have her rather smitten for you, those little drops of curiosity that gaze at her as if she were Aphrodite herself, swelling with emotions and that certain characteristic that only humans held. Alcina's lips curl at the thought of your expression whenever you were confused. Her mind swirls with something unspoken at the image of tears welling in your lovely eyes.
