~Sanemi's Dream~
~Sanemi P.O.V~

"I don't understand why a breathless punk like you even wants to be a demon slayer," I say as I look down at Aki, coughing as she's on her hands and knees, "you don't even have speed to tag me." I squat down and poke her head repeatedly, "you're just going to get in the way of everyone else and get not only them eaten, but you'll be killed before you even manage to spot the damn monsters. You're better off back home where you won't be a pest to anyone."

"Shut up..." I hear Aki say through her breath, "just shut up..." I feel my eye twitch. Did this brat just talk back to her senior? "Looks like you can talk," I say, "but i suggest you pick your next words carefully if you don't want to lose a finger." She grips my shirt and slams her forehead against mine, both of our heads start to bleed from the impact, but she doesn't even flinch from the crash.

"Tag," Aki says with some anger in her voice, blood now dripping off her chin, "you're it." I feel the end of my lips start to curve up slightly, "you got balls of steel kid," I say as I finally pry her hand opens, "maybe you aren't such big of a pest after all." I stood up and yanked Aki off the ground with one hand; I was surprised by how light she was.

"I'm feeling generous," I say as I put Aki back on her feet, "you should be honored a hashira you barely know is going to train you." I press my finger against her bleeding forehead hard, "you're going to need to train ten times harder than everyone else here, I'll train you until you're throwing up blood."

~Dream Cut~

"Wake up!" As I nap on a tree, my crow yells, "wake up!" I groan and try pushing him off my stomach, "what now?" I say, "it's morning so there's no demons out right now." My crow bites my hand, which causes me to flinch, "you have been summoned to go back to headquarters!" As he now jumps on me, he says, "a situation has occurred that requires your presence."

"Sounds urgent," I say as I jump off the tree, "fine, I'll head back right now then."

~Seven Hours Later~

What the hell could be so urgent that requires me to leave my district unguarded? I grab the handle to slide open the screen door, but I stop when I hear Rengoku's voice. "Please, lord Ubuyashiki," he says, "do not blame Aki for what she did. If i had been there faster, then none of this would be happening, please, let me take her punishment instead!"

What the hell is going on? Why is Rengoku asking for someone else's punishment? Just what the fuck did Aki do?! I slide open the door and see lord Ubuyashiki sitting as Rengoku has his forehead pressed against the tatami floor. "Ah, Sanemi," lord Ubuyashiki says as he hears me walk in, "please, have a seat."

I sit beside Rengoku, "you summoned me, lord Ubuyashiki?" I say, "is there something you need assistance of?" Lord Ubuyashiki looks in my direction, "I am informed you trained Aki for a while when she first joined the demon slayer corps, am I correct?"

"Yes, that information is accurate," I say, "I trained her because not only did she have a lot of determination as a breathless member. But, she reminded me of my late little sister, it was a personal reason too." Lord Ubuyashiki did not interrupt me once, "I understand," he said, "I'm sure she is grateful for your decision, Sanemi."

Lord Ubuyashiki coughs before talking again, "Sanemi," he says, "I regret to inform you that Aki has killed two men, and she nearly did the same to her mother. If Rengoku had not arrived, she would have been the third." I quickly froze up after what he just told me, there's no way, there's no way in hell Aki is capable of killing people without a good reason.

"What the local police and investigators were able to gather after the incident was, Aki's mother intended to sell her off to the two men whom Aki killed later on." Lord Ubuyashiki says, "Aki's fury boiled quickly, her mind and body were no longer one, instead, they seemed like two different parts. Is that last part accurate, Kyojuro?"
