"it always feels different when you say my name. the old butterflies are gone. i feel a chill run down my spine. all you did was ask if i had a pencil. how silly right? i couldn't even answer you. i think that might've been the first time you spoke to me since we broke up. how silly of me to throw away my one chance to talk to you again, even for a moment. one could say the same about me doing this, how silly it is. in a way, i still find comfort in the possibility of you listening to me once again. are you? i doubt it."

changmin's hands had become increasingly more shaky. chanhee noticed and took the phone. setting it aside on the night stand, "look, i don't think this is healthy. these were all left so long ago. let's just leave them in their time."
"no! i..." changmin paused for a moment, his stomach lurched, "there's no way to go back but..."
chanhee sighed, "i'm having an uneasy feeling so i can't even begin to imagine how you must be feeling. i don't think this is right."
changmin paused, glancing at the phone before picking it up once again, "i'll admit. i feel like i might be sick. but i'm definitely not the same person i was then. i might finally be capable of listening to these for what they are without my ego getting in the way unnecessarily."
"and your girlfriend? she wouldn't like this..." chanhee warned, knowing how sensitive a subject like this is. changmin nodded, "i won't tell her."
"dude..."
"maybe some day i will. but right now, i want to give her the attention i never did." changmin said solemnly. his hands had finally calmed down. the two started at the screen once again and chanhee shook his head disapprovingly, "this feels wrong, but play it."
