She was an unemotional girl. A girl with a brain filled with fluff, who drifted through life not knowing much. A girl who didn't know where she was going or what she was saying. Everyday a whirlwind of complete nothing.

No passion. No motivation.

A silly girl. A dumb girl.

She was the strange girl who was blowing away in the wind.

But she didn't know.

Without a worry. Without the knowledge of responsibility. Living in a world of fantasy and daydreams.

Dependent.

And as the years stacked upon her, so did the confusion.

Why was she here? Why did she have to grow up? Why did she have to think about the future? About a career, and about having to make her parents proud?

Then she realised she had reached the shores of adulthood and she couldn't go back. But as soon as she had come to that realisation, a darkness engulfed her naive world. And hatred buried her pure soul.

All these things she hadn't known about came pulling her down from the clouds.

And soon that unemotional girl started to cry. First in the mid of the night. Then entire days. In her bed. In the shower. She was alone.

Misunderstood.

No one tried to understand. No one tried to listen to the beating of her weak heart. So she hid herself as much as she could. Afraid of people and their hurtful words and judgemental faces. Without knowing, she had locked herself inside the prison of her own bitterness.

One night as she lay in her bed in the darkness, she listened to the breeze rustling the tree outside her window. The shadows danced wildly on the curtain. Her eyes traced the shapes observingly.

There was one branch in particular that kept catching her attention. She moved her eyes down the length of the branch.

Squinting hard in concentration, she spotted the figure of a human amongst the leaves.

Waving.
