Tell him what you want and
Baby he can find you anything you need
Tell him what you're needing

Nina's Pov:
A diner booth for two is more intimate than the moon for its stars. The window to my right mirrored the neon lights marking its ownership to the isolated diner. You know? Like the way astronauts plant flags on the moon. The cars in the parking lot were vintage and primary colored. Besides us, the only other few people in this quiet place, they were over the age of 50. I could tell by the people's comfort that this was their place. 'Since the 60s' like the poster had emphasized.

The only thing I had forgotten about was us. The person sitting across the off-white table. Alex Turner.

Fifty feet tall and revved up too high
All of our exchanges about candlelight

"I joost realized," Alex broke the silence. I devoted my attention to every aspect of his face avoiding the eyes. The frost look of his hair due to the profuse ounces of gel. I wondered that if I would get the chance to run my fingers through his hair would it be like the bristles of a brush. I noticed that whenever he was active the gel would disappear leaving his hair presentably natural and assumingly moveable to the touch.

Down to his aquiline nose I studied it like Greek mythology. Whenever he turned to reveal his side profile I remembered it's triangular shape. And his lips. His pair I became familiar with last night at the club. I didn't want to be constantly reminded of the kiss but undeniably it replayed in my mind like NFL commercials. It was a consuming scene from a movie except I actually felt it.

Now his jaw. Well that's just an illustration of unfairness. It was simple math which made it easier for me because I can't do mathematics to save my life. And I could go on to the way his ears visibly perked up along with his adam apple that was in unison with the voice of a greek god. I also annotated to ask him about his tattoo and ring but for later.

My train of thought met the end until next time.

Alex's Pov:
" I joost realized yeh mentionin' yer uh music critic," I broke the silence.

I've never dined in here before but it was my favorite diner out of all the ones in LA. I pondered on the moment that we will meet again. It always felt like the very first time. I've gathered nothing but pennies for her thoughts. The rarest coins collected wouldn't even buy me a page of her magazine. Deep down inside there's only one thing I was certain of. She was a quiet girl with a million words to say.

I strangely wanted to be in the midst of her confessions. I needed to revel in the monologues of her passions. Whenever Nina will be ready to share I'll be waiting to listen.

My whole life all I ever did was listen. I listened to music. I was attentive to wordplay. I concentrated on the sounds of everyday life that surrounded me. And right now in my life I lacked Nina's attention. I desired nothing more than for her to listen to me religiously whether it be my rants or my songs. I had more than a million of words to tell her.

She is a music critique after all. I'd let her journal my hit tracks and rip them to shreds if must be. I only craved the honesty I ought to hear from the silk voice she soothes my mind with.

Nina's Pov:
"Yes I am," I smiled softly.

I withheld the venting. I love my job don't get me wrong. I just don't like the fact of over sharing. I've been there before and done that. People have told me I talk a lot and that it's quite frankly boring.

Instead I remained to circumvent the eyes of seducing me into this deep hypnosis I wouldn't be able to snap out of. Alex Tuner's eyes. The dark brown whiskey neat eyes.

"Well it's two thousand and sixteen," Alex stated the obvious. "There's ben uh great deal of albooms released." He concluded. I noticed that he ducked his head slightly but noticeably attempting to make eye contact. I just kept to the word I had given myself and played with the rings on my finger for a distraction.

"Yeah you know... The Last Shadow Puppets reunite and release their second album after eight years, Frank Ocean after four years is back, Iggy pop brings back Britpop, Rihanna will never be irrelevant, and Radiohead gets even more deep," I stressed about having to write. I currently have writers block and I'd even cry about being stuck in front of my computer just brain dead.

"Screw Radiohead," Alex shook his head. This time I accidentally looked up to sell him my attention. Fortunately he was now the one playing with his only ring. I looked back down and this time played with the curves of the coffee mug.

"Who's Radio-," I laughed lightly trying to joke it off ever mentioning the band. I was aware to the tweet they posted about the Arctic Monkeys. But before I could even finish the name Radiohead Alex had cut me off.

"Shhhhh," he leaned closer discarding the table dividing us. He had his fingers to his lips. This is when our eyes met again.

"Right sorry," I nodded my head trying to hold in the little giggles I trapped.

Alex's Pov:
I laughed at the fact she joked along with me. I was finally able to be her main focus instead of her impressive rings. I noticed the way she snorts a bit when she laughs. The way her nose scrunches up. The way she bites her lip. It was attraction. But nothing more than that. Right?

Nina's Pov:

He'll walk through the walls and creep up behind
Make sense of the maze that you were stuck outside
Cover your eyes

After dinner and the car ride home Alex walked me to the door. Up the steps I went in front of him and he followed. I searched for the keys in my purse. The little things. A usual typical scenario.

"Ah found it," I sighed in relief. "I guess this is the part we say goodnight," I said politely. I shoe gazed at the dressy black ones he was wearing.

Often the humble kind but he can't deny
He was made to blow your mind
Or something along those lines tonight

"Somethin' wrong love?" Alex questioned.

"Why do you say that?" I answered back in confusion.

"Well yer always lookin' down at the floor," he caught the habit.

"I'm sorry," I looked up at him and became the effect of the devilish smirk he wore.

So what's the wish? He'll make it come true
Simple as a line out of a doo-woo tune
He'll make the moves

"Ask me," Alex left me in confusion once again.

"Ask you?" I questioned.

"Ask me to stay," he replied and my heart dropped into my stomach. The game he requested would either start or end tonight.

"Do you want to stay?" I pressed play and the lump of doubt in my throat formed like a warning.

"Lead the way," Alex smirked.

Come on miracle aligner
Go and get 'em tiger
Get down on your knees
Get down on your knees again
