Phoenix's POV
I had been up for the past ten minutes and was just making my way back up to our dorm with a bottle of water in my hand. Still half asleep, I didn't pay proper attention to where I was going as my foot caught on the edge of one of the girl's trunks and I tripped slightly, the bottle of water flying out of my hand and unfortunately ending up poured all over the Aurora girl. Great. I held my breath as she suddenly shot up and I felt the blood drain from my face as she suddenly yelled, waking up the other girls who had still been sleeping in the dorm.
I realised that she was waiting for an explanation from me and I dropped my gaze to the floor, feeling the blush spread across my face. I had only been here a day and already seemed to be making an enemy. "I-I-I'm s-s-sorry." I stuttered, not daring to look up at her face as she ranted for a moment. Geez. It was just an accident.
"I said I'm sorry!" I replied, still not daring to look at her. "It was an accident, honest." I tried to explain. I flinched slightly at her threat and din't move as she pushed past me, heading out of the dorm. Wow. Talk about Garfield on a Monday.
-----
An hour later, I was down in the great hall for breakfast, having picked a seat as far from Aurora as possible when Harry came and joined me. Neither of us said anything as I focused on the bowl of cereal in front of me, but I could tell that he was watching me. Probably seeing the tear tracks that still streaked my face. Yes, I did cry after she left this morning. "What's wrong Phoe?" he asked quietly. Damn. Was I that easy to read? I slowly raised my eyes to meet his. "I may have accidently poured water on Aurora this morning and she yelled at me." I answered him, deciding to give him the short version. I saw his fist clench. "Is that what that noise was this morning? I could hear it from the common room." he almost growled. Great. Here came the protective brother part I hated seeing.
Before I could say anything, he had jumped up from his seat and stalked over to Aurora, leaving me mentally cursing. Why did he have to make a scene? I kept my eyes focused on my breakfast, not wanting to see what was happening between him and Aurora, not even wanting to listen to it.
It was a while later that people started heading to their classes and a small frown crossed my face as I watched Harry and Aurora happily talking together. It annoyed me for some reason, but I pushed it out of my head as I got up from the table and made my way towards my first class of the day. Potions. I was shaking slightly, remembering the greasy haired teacher that one of the red headed twins had pointed out. Professor Snape. That was his name. I spotted a few other first years and followed them down to the dungeons, reaching the class to discover that I was one of the first ones there. Great. I probably seemed like the geeky little kid who gets top marks in everything. Oh well. Who cares what anyone else thinks?
Figuring I might as well take a seat, I made my way to the back corner of the class since no one else seemed to be there at the moment. What really confused me, was when Harry and Aurora arrived at the class and she glared at me, as if I was in her spot or something! I mean, no one was here when I got here so what did I do wrong? This girl obviously has a problem with me, though god knows what it is.
