Episode-6
My siblings and I are the first vampires in history, the Originals. Three hundred years ago, we called New Orleans home. Now, we've returned, drawn by a witch who seeks to use my sister, Nikole's unborn child as leverage in a brewing war. But her quest for power has turned sibling against sibling, leaving our family more divided than ever. Now that Elijah has returned, can our family unite to face this new threat?
PLANTATION HOUSE
Nikole and Elijah sat opposite each other in the living room as each of them read their own book.
Nikole was reading "A Poison Tree" by William Blake, and Elijah was reading one of his mother's grimoires. A dead girl laid on the coffee table; bleeding from puncture wounds in her neck, while they listened to classical music.
Nikole was looking up at her brother, glancing at him in between her reading.
Elijah felt her sister's stare though he paid her no mind and continued to flip through the grimoire.
That was the scene Rebekah had walked into.
She looked around the awfully quiet room, looked at her siblings and scoffed, "So, this is what you do the first time we're back together as a family? Vampire book club"
Nikole continued to read the book, without even looking at her, she spoke, "Reading edifies the mind, sister. Isn't that right, Elijah?"
She looked up at her brother.
"Yes, that's quite right, Nikolia."
Elijah didn't even spare her a glance, still upset at her for putting him in a coffin. He knew she was trying to keep things normal but Elijah wasn't quite ready to forgive her yet.
Rebekah rolled her eyes at her family's antics, "And what's this business?" She gestured to the dead girl on the table. She grimaced when she noticed the blood dripping on the expensive rug.
Elijah finally looked up; his expression unamused, "This is a...[He gestured as though searching for the right word] ...peace offering."
Nikole lowered her book and sighed before looking at Rebekah with a smirk, "I presumed, after so much time desiccating in a coffin, that my big brother might be a bit peckish."
Elijah looked at Rebekah in annoyance, "And I explained to my little sister that forgiveness cannot be bought. I'd simply prefer to see a change in her behavior that indicates contrition and personal growth." He spoke directly to Rebekah.
Nikoled rolled her eyes guiltily as Elijah pointed to the girl on the table.
Elijah finished with a slight glare as he looked at Nikole , "Not this nonsense."
Nikole grinned, happy that Elijah even looked her.
"Well, I couldn't very well let her go to waste, could I?" She looked at Rebekah smugly.
Elijah simply rolled his eyes.
The youngest sibling huffed in annoyance, "Well, I suppose I'll go fetch the rubbish bin, because she's staining a two hundred-year-old carpet."
