Min Riera
8:09am
It read on the big grey clock as I stared into the almost filled building in front of me.It took me all the courage in the world as I dragged my feet towards the entrance doors. My insides twitched and turned a little, as familiarity welcomed me. The sounds of the ac's, phone ringing, printing machines, and the clicks and clacks of shoes.
I held my head up high and posture upright as I walked cautiously towards the correct elevator.
The classic elevator jingle, once again, accompanied me which brought a sense of calmness to my purging heartbeat.

"Good morning Mr. Lee", I greeted as our janitor joined me in on the ride."Good morning Riera", he answered back. Which made me turn a little towards his direction, surprised to find out that he knows my name.
"You're one of the very few people that greet me everyday Riera", he smiled to me, showing off the wrinkles on his eyes. After he said that, I was even more shock at how he responded to what I was thinking. But nonetheless, I eventually smiled back.
"Good luck, okay"
"What do you mean Mr. Lee?", I asked.
Confused at the sudden gesture."You have bandages on your foot while wearing those devil horn shoes", he said making me look at the black shoes I wore today.
"What?", I asked giggling a little.
"You want to prove a point today", my smile fell a little as his words went unto me.
"So I say again, Good luck", was the last thing he said before leaving the lift.
I stood there baffled at the amount of wisdom he just let out on such a short amount of time. His words made me look down at my slightly hurting ankle as it sit uncomfortably on my high heeled shoes.
It's not advicable to walk on a 4inch heel on a sprain ankle, but in a few days these bandages will finally come off. I missed wearing pretty shoes as they were off limits for the past 6 weeks.
Today's a big day, and I needed to pull some confidence string at somewhere, and that somewhere just happened to be my healing sprained foot.

On my way to my cubicle I was unfortunately met by, "Same girl with that awful black top, 58th floor now" She wanted to push me towards the elevator once again but I didn't let her. This time I walked passed by her, not letting my focus avert away from my desk. "Excuse me?-"
"Tell him no. Whatever he needs, whatever he wants. My answer's no"
I answered before she ever got the chance."He-"
"I'm not his assistant", I said as I scanned through the closed files of paper on my desk.
I was looking down and taking some notes so I never saw her reaction, but ai did hear an annoyed whine as she left which, contrarily, made me smile.
My morning went on as usual after that, I went to work and got shit done. After going through the stacks and stacks of files on my desk it finally came lunch time.
The moment the Jeoyoon and Minsoo laid their eyes on me, it didn't take long for me to get welcomed by their warmest embrace. "We've missed you", Minsoo said as we headed towards are usual seat.
"You've been gone for so long, it felt so empty without you", Jeoyoon said.
"I've missed you guys too".
It's true it has been a while, and just like them, my days did feel a little bit incomplete without our usual lunch dates.
