All Janus had wanted to do was sleep. After all, it was 11 pm and he had work tomorrow. But, of course, his boyfriend had a random, sudden desire to go to the movies at the new cinema that opened up. Which is why Remy woke him up at 10:10pm, right after he'd fallen asleep, and asked him to take him to the movies tonight. And when his boyfriend wanted something, he could only say no so many times until he gave in.

So here the two were, walking together to the cinema in the middle of the night to go watch a horror movie that might end up keeping both of them awake far after the movie ended.

"Love, can you reconsider this, please?" Janus began once again trying to reason with Remy.

"No babe, I wanna go to the movies. Plus you already bought the tickets." Janus sighed.

"I can get a refund. I have work tomorrow, so why don't we go after I get off then?"

"Because tomorrow you'll complain about being too worn out from work to see the movies. We're almost there anyways, and I did not walk this far just to turn back." The cinema was a good eight blocks away from their apartment, and although the walk wasn't that long, Remy didn't like walking much in the first place, especially without a nice, boiling hot cup of coffee. "Maybe if we'd taken the car, I would reconsider."

"No you wouldn't, dear. And if you're dragging me to the movies this late at night, you don't have the right to complain about me not taking the car." Remy didn't respond, and Janus accepted defeat.

Soon enough, the two arrived. It was a little over fifteen minutes before the movie started, plenty of time to get snacks and be in the theatre when the movie started.

"Let's get popcorn!" Remy dragged Janus over to the cashier.

"Right, let's go buy overpriced popcorn to watch an overpriced movie, even though we literally have popcorn at home." Remy rolled his eyes.

"Movie theatre popcorn is the best! Besides, you're paying anyway, so what do I have to lose?" Remy reached into Janus's coat pocket and pulled out his wallet. Janus only sighed and watched Remy get an extra large tub of popcorn, a couple of large sodas, tons of candy, and his credit card balance drop.

"Did you really have to buy so much?" Remy nodded and pushed all of the snacks into Janus's hands.

"You carry those, and the popcorn. I'll get the drinks." Remy attempted to hand Janus the tub of popcorn, but the man declined as he couldn't carry anything else. Janus placed everything in his hands back onto the counter.

"I had to pay for everything, so I'm not carrying it." Janus tried to walk away, only to be grabbed by Remy and pulled back to the counter.

"C'mon, I can't carry all of this." Janus sighed, leaning against the counter and placing a hand on his forehead.

"Well neither can I." Remy sighed and started grabbing the snacks.

"Fine, take the popcorn and drinks though." Janus complied and the two made their way through the almost empty cinema and into their viewing room. An usher led them to their seats, which were front row because neither man would settle for anything less.

"Ok here's your damn drink, now give me a Hershey's bar, I'm hungry." Remy pulled a Hershey's bar out of the pile of candy and handed it to his boyfriend, who immediately opened it and started snacking. Remy took a small sip of his drink, wanting to save it for the movie.

The two watched the movie in silence, unlike most of the other viewers, who were constantly whispering to each other, dramatically gasping, and even screaming a couple of times. Remy started nodding off part way through the movie, after eating most of the popcorn, and eventually fell asleep on his boyfriend's shoulder. The latter, who didn't care, spent most of the movie eating chocolate of various forms and what was left of the popcorn. When the movie ended, Janus got cleaned up before waking Remy up.
