"Thank you for the ride," Jane politely smiled and opened the car door. "I will see you next week," she said to the two kids on the backseat. "And have a nice evening," she said to Giuseppe.

"You too, Jane," Giuseppe replied, and friendly smiled.

Jane stepped out of the car and closed the door behind her. She stepped aside and waved at the car. There was a quick glimpse at the children who were waving back. The car drove away, allowing Jane to take a deep breath.

She sprayed on some perfume and entered the property. Her eyes glided over the house; it was a normal-sized property. There was room for three or four cars outside, but there was only parked one car now. Jane walked over to the car and looked at herself in the window, checking if she looked fine. She took the clip out of her hair and ran her fingers through it.

A few seconds later, Jane continued walking to the front door. She pressed on the bell and waited for the door to open. A nervous feeling flowed through her stomach.

The door opened. "Good evening," Marcus happily smiled when he faced Jane.

"Hello," Jane replied.

Marcus stepped aside, giving Jane the space to enter the house. "How are you?" He closed the door behind her.

"I'm fine, thanks. How about you?"

They gave each other a hug, Marcus gave Jane a kiss on her cheek and stroked her back.

"I'm fine too," he replied and pulled back. Their eyes met. "Was it easy to get here with the public transport?"

"Giuseppe dropped me off. We ran into him on the way back to their house," she answered. "Do I need to take off my shoes?"

"Yes, please." He shared a smile. "Ah, had a fun day with the twins?"

"Yeah, yeah." She took off her shoes and placed them next to another pair of shoes.

Marcus ran his hand through his hair. "Come in," he welcomed her. "Welcome to my crib." But as soon he realised what he said, he looked embarrassing away. That is just stupid. He deeply inhaled and walked to the living room.

"The crib," Jane replied and softly smirked. She followed Marcus and looked around when they arrived in the living room. It was a simple household; you could see men lived here, but it was functional. Some personal things were lying on a dresser. "Nice place."

"Thanks." Marcus looked around. "We tried to make it warm and cosy, but we're usually don't stay here for a long time - unlike this year. I live here with Callum and Mick, but those two spend a lot of time at their girlfriend's place."

She nodded, a friendly look was resting on her face. "Mick too?"

"Yup, three drivers under one roof." He cleared his throat. "Do you want something to drink?"

"Yes, please."

Marcus walked to the kitchen, looking behind him to see if Jane was following him. That was the case. "I have coffee, soda, tea, water, wine, beer..."

"Water is fine," she answered. The kitchen was quite big, Jane didn't expect that. "How was your day?"

"Good. The boys and I had a good cycle trip, it was intense with the heat, but it was fun," Marcus began to tell about his day and grabbed something to drink for Jane and himself. "I was planning to make pasta, if you agree with that..."

"Yes, absolutely. Pasta sounds good."

"Lo Spaghetto al Pomodoro," Marcus read from the recipe in the cookbook. It looked delicious to him when he saw the picture of the dish and read the ingredients. It also looked simple to make. "I'm not the greatest chef, but..."
