"So yeah, erm, I was wondering if you wanted to help me with an essay?" Jane asked Marcus hopefully. "I have to write a background story about a famous person, and I have to show I met this person in real life. I don't know many famous people, but you are famous. But if you don't want to do it, it's totally fine."

A smile grew on Marcus' face, and he looked down. He never thought he would be happy to see Jane's name pop up on his phone when she called. And this question made it even more adorable.

"And I want to see you..." she softly added.

"So you think I'm famous?" Marcus couldn't help it, but tease around. "Yes, sure, I'd love to help you," he said in a normal tone.

"Amazing," she replied, relieved. "I can be at yours in 30? Or we can meet up somewhere?"

He looked up when he heard people entering the house; that must be Callum. "Callum's family arrived yesterday, and it is a bit hectic unless you don't mind it."

"Oh. Well, I don't know; it doesn't matter to me."

"Where are you right now?"

"Just leaving the library. We can also meet up at mine?"

Marcus gave Callum's family a polite smile when they greeted him. "Let's do that. I can be at yours in an hour? I just got home from a bicycle tour and still have to shower," he softly chuckled.

"Sure, take your time. Thank you, by the way," Jane said.

He imagined her to have a smile on her face now. "No problem, Jane." After talking for a bit, the phone call ended, and now it was Marcus his turn to greet Callum's family. "Hey," he said and got up from the sofa.

"Hello," Callum's dad said. "Had a good trip?"

"Yeah, the weather was great actually," Marcus answered, satisfied.

Callum walked back into the living room with something to drink. "We are having dinner at the pizzeria. Wanna join?" He invited Marcus and pointed at his family.

"Err..." Marcus looked at his watch; it was three o'clock. And before he was at Jane's, it would be four o'clock, and he wasn't sure if he would be back on time for dinner. "I'm going to Jane, and I don't know if I will make it on time. But thanks for asking! Maybe next time."

A grin grew on Callum's face. "Are you staying over at Jane?"

"Nope. Helping her out with a school assignment. Something about a background story."

"Hmm-hmm." Callum took a sip from his drink. "Interesting."

"What?" Marcus raised his eyebrows and looked questionably at Callum.

"Nothing," Callum amusingly smiled. "Just tell her I said hi."

"I will." Marcus pressed his lips into a thin line and left the living area.

The door made an opening sound, and Marcus pushed it open. One hour later and he was standing in front of Jane's apartment building. The door closed behind him, and he looked around; he was standing in the main entrance. And now? If he remembered it correctly, Jane once told him she lived on the top floor. Marcus walked up the stairs, making his way to the top floor.

Once he arrived at the top floor, one - and the only door - was ajar. Marcus knocked on the door and slowly pushed it open.

"Hey!" The cheerful voice of Jane filled his ears.

"Hello," Marcus greeted Jane. She was wearing a light blue shirt and blue jeans, her hair was down, and she barely wore any makeup. She looked beautiful. "How are you?" He closed the door behind him and looked around.
