The song was obnoxious and annoying. I frowned as I listened to the radio as Malu cooked us dinner.

"Is this some kind of sick joke?" I asked my sister. "These guys are such evil snakes."

"I think it's pretty sweet that they wrote a song dedicated to our town." She shrugged as she stirred the spaghetti she was making. " Listen I know things are hard right now,but you have to think about how they also must've been horrified."

"The singer stabbed Ella." I said.

"Maybe he was trying to kill a bird?" She suggested.

"You always try to make light out of everything." I smiled to myself.

"And you're always worried about everything." Malu responded. "Listen here sis. I promise things will be better from here on out."

"The body of Cody Anderson was discovered earlier tonight by his best friend Sterecra."A news announcer said as Malu and I watched the news. My sister's eyes were filled with tears as she began to cry. He went to the same church as us. My phone rang and I got up.

"Will you be ok alone?" I asked looking at her concerned.

"I'll be fine Court."She said looking up at me. I went upstairs into my room and answered the phone.

"I feel fucking great!" Gwen said ethustically.

"What?" I asked confused.

"I never felt as goddess like as I do right now. I'm a total legend." Gwen said burning herself with a lighter and watching her skin heal automatically after.

"You do realize that someone else just died right? And that something is wrong around here." I responded.

"Stop crying about those scum dying. I'm way more important." I was weirded out as some messages popped in. Ducan was asking to meet with me.

"Sorry I have to go.." I said. "Duncan wants to talk about something."

"Fine whatever." Gwen sighed. " Also I've been thinking about something. He's pretty hot. How big is his.." I hung up annoyed.

Duncan sat on a bench in the park looking anxious. His brothers were talking by themselves by the swings seeming panicked and kind of shaken up. When Duncan saw me he relaxed a bit.

"Princess..." Duncan said.

"Hey Duncan." I replied walking up to him.

"You heard about that twerp Anderson dying, right?" He asked looking around.

"Saw it on the news." I nodded.

"Well since my parent's are cops and were at the scene I heard something weird.Apparently someone gutted him out in the woods and murdered him." I covered my mouth in shock. What happened to Cody was more brutal then I could ever imagine. " I just wanted to tell you."

"This has to be related to what happened on Friday..." I said panicking."

"Come on babe don't be a conspiracy theorist." Duncan said rolling his eyes. I couldn't help but thinking the incidents were connected. Even if he didn't believe me.

As the weeks went by, our small town of Wawanakwa was national news. Everything felt hopeless and bleak and everyone was down. But for some reason Gwen seemed to prosper from all the chaos. She seemed radiant and ignorant to everything going on around us. The worst part of it all were the conspiracy theorists and tourists. They'd go to the diner and sing that stupid Dick Mobile song. A month had passed slowly.

"As you all know today is the one month anniversary of the incident at the diner." McLean said at the front of the classroom. "I'm sure you're all be glad to hear that the band Dick Mobile are contributing 3% of the bands profits to the families affected by this disaster."

"Booo." Gwen said looking half dead from where she sat next to me.

"Meanie." Lindsay whispered to Beth loudly.

"Have something to share with the class Gwen?" Mr. McLean asked annoyed. "Courtney?"

"I think it's quite odd how they're donating such a small amount. Especially since they seem to be profiting off of us and you're all being manipulated." I said standing up.

"Dick Mobile saved us. If it wasn't for them helping out during the incident many people would be dead. Bridgette would be dead."Beth spoke up.

"I saved Bridgette. Plus they didn't help anyone. You're such a gullible idiot." I said getting heated.

"It's not a lie. It was on Wikedpedia." Beth said trying to seem smart.

"Courtney you're being really uncool. I'm sending you to the corner of shame. You're being a total loser right now." McClean said annoyed. I got up angrily.

"Whatever keep playing that shitty song and enjoy being sheep." I said standing up and going to the corner.

"I agree it's poorly produced." Gwen said.

"YOU'RE IN THE CORNER TOO."

"You ok?" I asked Gwen as we stood in the corner. "You just seem tired lately."

"Not really. My skin is breaking out and I feel like a ghost." She whispered. The bell rung and the both of us got our stuff and headed into the hallway.

"I feel like the magic is wearing off." Gwen said looking miserable.

"Magic?"I asked confused.

"Hey ladies." Scott said coming up to us.

"Scott." Gwen said blankly looking at him.

"Hey." I smiled politely at the smelly male.

"So I was thinking of som-" Scott began.

"You want to go out with me right?" Gwen asked out of no where.

"Huh?" Scott asked, confused. " I wasn't thinking about that... but if you want to that would.. be nice." Scott began blushing. " You can come over to the farm or maybe go to the carnival with me. My sister is in the hog calling contest this year."

"Sounds really lame."Gwen said.

"Of course." Scott sighed before walking away.

"That was weird." Gwen said annoyed.

"I thought it was sweet. Scott's a total sweetheart." I said, smiling.

"He smells awful and eats dirt."

"He's still a good guy and kind of cute." I shrugged.

"Scott." Gwen suddenly shouted, causing the ginger to turn around. "Come to my place tonight."
