Viridian's phone rang.

"Hi, mom." A smile appeared on her face. It's been two weeks and everything was back to normal.

"Honey, I missed you. Your father does and I do too and everybody else and–"

"Mom, I get it. How are you?" She giggled.

"Oh, I'm fine. How are the boys and Danica?"

"All fine."

"And you?"

"Just there."

"You coming home for Founders day?"

Founders day. Ashville was the small town they all hailed from and it was situated in a valley, having lots of meadows. The town had two elementary schools, one high school, an ancient library, and a statue of honor situated in the middle of the town, at the road's roundabout. They had a pretty big waterfall that attracted tourists.

And oh, founders day was just a day after prom.

"Uhhhh–"

"C'mon honey, prom is tomorrow."

"And you're just telling me now?" Viridian groaned.

"I thought you already knew."

Viridian groaned again. "I'll call you back, mom."

Viridian ended the call and dialed someone else's number.

"Hey, baby girl."

"Hi. You going home for founders day?"

"Are you?"

"I asked you first."

"Yeah, dad wants me to come see him. You wanna come?"

"I'm going with Dan."

"Nica is going with the twins."

"You told them to take her, didn't you?"

"It didn't happen if there ain't no proof."

Viridian rolled her eyes. "When are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow morning, eight hours journey."

"Why did no one tell me?"

"You mean Nica, your best friend and the one you live with?"

"You too. You're my-my–"

"Your what?" She knew he was smirking.

"Friend." She said finally.

"That you fuck."

"Fuck you."

"You already do and if you want more, come over."

"Bye." She heard him laugh before she ended the call. Danica was behind the counter attending to customers while Viridian was at the back baking.

Viridian appeared beside her and also began to attend to the customers. "Why didn't you tell me about going home for Founders day?"

"I thought you knew."

"Yeah, you thought."

Danica frowned. "We go home every year, sorry it skipped my mind to tell you that we're goi–" Danica spoke with sarcasm.
