Love or unlove there is no choice

I've had the butterflies before, I mean everyone get that from the smallest of actions from people all around

I'm only confused
Because they say, love is a choice
And when you unlove a person you chose to do so

But I, I disagree
Love doesn't die out nor fade away
And i don't get how you somehow can choose to love a person
By instance I didn't choose to love my mother and I can never think of unloving her either

I believe love happens naturally without choice

But then they would also say but
If your spouse messes up
You have to choose whether you still love them or not
But I disagree yet again

If your spouse messes up and you choose to stay
It's forgiveness
And forgiveness is a choice
You choose to forgive him and if not you chose to hold it against them for what they've done
But also...

You can still love a person without forgiving them
But in my personal opinion
When that happens, it is simply because the person is waiting to see if the one who had done wrong would fix it and change for the better
That is how they forgive them,
Through hope

And that is also where hope comes in
The lover is hoping that their spouse will correct their wrong and see in their actions that they have changed

You cannot choose to love someone and also not choose to unlove a person
Because it happens naturally
Yet again for instance
How can you unlove your best friend

That's the thing you can't

And that's why when you lose a person you love hurts
Because you didn't choose to unlove them or anything
You still love them but things just don't work out
And that's why it hurts
