Wanda and Natasha are sitting at the local bar in town, taking shots. Natasha made Wanda go out for a girls night. Wanda goes out every once in a while and Natasha was going to take advantage of the minimal arguing Wanda made.
Natasha was distracted by a tall guy with black hair in a jean jacket, 5 o'clock shadow, and enough cologne to make anyone choke- "just Nat's type for a night in town" Wanda laughed to herself.
While Natasha was occupied Wanda got up from the bar to stretch her legs and see who was singing on the stage. She liked the raspiness in the voice of whoever was on the mic. As Wanda watched the woman on stage do a backflip and she was mesmerized by the stage presence. The woman gave her a wink as she sang,
"Fate fell short this time, your smile fades in the summer
Place your hand in mine, I'll leave when I wanna"Wanda gulped and knew she was hooked. She was going to find a way to take that woman home.
THE COMPOUND - MONDAY NIGHT- TWO DAYS LATER
Wanda keeps sticking her head out of her door because she kind of recognizes the girl that just bounced down the hallway. The girl didn't even notice Wanda due to her headphones playing music so loudly.
Natasha walks by and notices Wanda, "Creeping on the new girl? You can go talk to her. She won't bite."
Wanda jumped a bit, and smiled at Natasha, "When did she get here? How do you know she won't bite?"
Natasha laughs at Wanda's question, "This morning. I've known her forever!"
Wanda gives Natasha a tight lipped smile, "Were you planning on telling me we had a new recruit?"
Natasha shrugged and smirked at her friend, "Honestly I wasn't sure if she was going to come."
Wanda nods and she and Natasha part ways, "Wait Nat!"
Natasha turns around, "What's up?"
Wanda, "What's her name?"
Natasha smiled, "It's Maeve." She turned around and continued her way to the kitchen.
Wanda smiled and repeated the girl's name to herself, then proceeded down the hall.
As Wanda approached Maeve's room she could hear the unmistakable music of Blink-182.
Wanda knocked lightly on Maeve's door, she didn't notice Maeve had already turned down the music prior to the knock. When Maeve opened the door she was met with familiar hazel eyes and gave Wanda a soft smile. The locked eyes for a moment before Wanda shook her head, trying to find her words. "Hi, I'm Wanda Maximoff. I wanted to introduce myself."
Maeve was a little surprised at her visitor but she accepted the hand shake and welcomed the redhead into her room by opening the door wider. Maeve turns away from the door to see Wanda looking around the mostly undecorated room. Maeve moves to play her music again while she tries to muster up the courage to speak to the beautiful woman in front of her.
Before Maeve could figure out what to say to Wanda, Natasha poked her head in the door, "Hey kid, meet me in the conference room tomorrow, be there at 7:45 so I can give you the rundown before we fill out the paperwork. I know you get how most of it works since you've seen me do it a million times, but given your new circumstances there's a few more things to fill out."
Maeve looks at Natasha, she feels comfort and smiles at her, "You got it Nat."
Natasha returns the look of affection, "Try not to stay up too late, okay? I don't need you to be an ass in the morning."
