Bed rest. Usually, any normal teenager who heard those wordd would be jumping for joy. Because with bed rest, came the fact that you didn't have to ever leave bed except to go to the bathroom and you got to do nothing. It was something ever teenager dreamed of doing. Absolutely nothing. But last time I checked, I'm not a normal teenager. Nowhere even remotely close to it. So to me, bed rest means torture. In this case, two weeks of it. So far, it's been 12 days. Only two more to go and then I'm free. Fucking finally. My wolf inside was going insane from lack of movement and was just begging to get out.

"Here's your dinner," mom called as she walked into the room with a tray full of my favorite food. Lasagna. Mmm. I sat up in bed and my mom placed the tray in my lap. I smiled.

"Thanks ma," I said while still staring at the food. She handed me a fork and I immediately dug into my food. I hadn't had lasagna in forever. I missed it's amazing taste.

"This...is....so....good," I said in between mouthfulls of food.

"Don't talk with your mouth full," mom scolded. I inhaled and almost choked on the food that I forgot was in my mouth, "See what I mean? You're choking." She handed me a glass filled with kool-aid and I chugged it down immediately.

"Thanks," I mumbled staring at the now empty plate of food. I wish it was still here and full like it was just 5 minutes ago.

"Staring at the plate isn't going to make the food magically appear." Mom said. I groaned and looked up at her with puppy dog eyes.

"Can I pwetty pwease with a cherry on top have some more?" I begged. Mom sighed and shook her head. I pouted.

"I'm sorry sweetie but you know how strict Blade is about staying in shape. He's only allowed us one plate of food per meal and it has to be in reasonable serving size," she said while imitating Blade's voice.

"Stupid Alpha. Putting us on these stupid diets. So stupid," I grumbled to myself. My mom laughed.

"I'll make sure to save you some for tommorow's lunch," she reassured. I smiled happily.

"Yay. Thanks. Do I still get to go to school in 2 days?" I asked hopeful. It's been two weeks and I want to see Avery and Storm. Mom's put it off long enough and I have school work I need to catch up on. Mom sighed and stood up. Grabbing the tray with her.

"No. I don't think you're completely healed," she lied.

"But maa," I whined. "It's been two weeks and I want to see Avey and Storm. I can't do this if you keep me locked up in this house. I need to catch up on my school work and Blade's getting mad that I'm still not back hunting with everyone." I tried to reason. We both knew that the last excuse was a complete lie but I couldn't help it. I wanted to leave. To be free. My wolf's whines were becoming more frequent and louder each time. Both my wolf and I couldn't take being on bed rest anymore. Mom sighed and irritated yet defeated sigh and I smiled knowing I already won.

"Fine. I guess you could get off bed rest in 2 days. But let me know if you have any pain or anything," mom said before slipping through my bedtoom door with the tray in her hand and closing the door. Mom was that. mom. She never wanted to let me go. She complained that I wasn't home enough and that she missed her son. It felt like we were a married couple instead of mother and son sometimes. I sighed a bit irritated with this thought. I didn't not want to think of my mother as anything other than that. My mother. Her being my wife? I shuddered. She's like a bazillion years old and either way, I'm gay. Gay. Gay. Gay. Which means no girls for me. Just guys. Guys. Guys. Guys. I was a little surprised to actually be admitting to my gayness but I just blamed it on the whole I-Just-Accused-My-Mother-And-I-Of-Sounding-Like-A-Married-Couple type thing. I'd probably admit to myself that I was a mudered and a rapist if I said or even thought something like that.

"Yeah," I murmured to myself. "That's the reason why."

There were whispers all around me as we stood in the very middle of our small village. Every member of the wolfpack was here. Talking amongst each other over why the alpha would have called a meeting that wasn't planned.

"Maybe he's found his mate." One lady whispered to her husband.

"I don't think he would call for a meeting that everyone was required to attend." her husband replied smartly back to her.

"It's a good thing I love you," she mumbled to her husband for everyone to hear. That got a lot of laughs out of some people and her husband looked away from everyone embarrassed. It amazed me how even after being together for so long, their love was still as strong - if not stronger - as it was when they first mated and fell in love. Of course that was the main reason why. They mated. When you mate with someone, werewolf or not, your love for that person is about gazillion times stronger than a regular humans love for someone. You hurt when they hurt. Feel their pain. You would do anything to make them happy. Even if it meant killing yourself. You would risk your life to be with that person and ensure their safety. You couldn't stand being away from that person for longer than an hour and everytime you kissed, it was more powerful than the one before. Shocks would go through you body if you had any physical interaction between you and your mate. But the bad thing about mating with a human, their feelings weren't always the same. Usually in the end, the human and the werewolf ended up together but there's always that one unlucky person who's mate runs off and falls inlove with someone else. Its a very sad thing to see happen.

"HUNTER," Blade roared finally snapping me out of my thoughts. I jumped at the loudness and a few people looked at me with dissapointment and annoyance. My parents did their best not to pay attention to what was happening but even they couldn't help but sneak a few glances at my startled face, "Are you going to lean against that wall all day and daydream or are you gonna show your alpha some respect for once and pay attention?" He asked when he was sure that he had my attention.

"Sorry sir," I mumbled while pushing myself off the wall.

"As I was saying, I've been warned of a new pack that was coming here in hope to live in these areas around our territory-"

"Who's the new pack?!" A guy shouted from the crowd. The alpha continued speaking and ignore his question. You didn't interrupt the alpha.

"I expect you to be on your best behavior and to welcome the new pack to the area. We shouldn't dare make enemies with this pack. They come in bigger numbers than us and are possibly even more skilled than us. Are there any questions?" Blade asked while looking around the field.

"Who's the new pack?!" The same guy from before shouted out again. Choruses of 'yeah's' and 'who are they?' Were shouted out among everybody. A hint of pink tinted in the alpha's eyes. Pink. Jealousy.

"One of the rare packs. The Crimson pack to be exact. We can't be 100 percent sure if they are coming to stay or just passing through but I've had the chance to exchange words between a few packs in different States and it seems they are coming to set up a base," With those words, everybody tensed. The Crimson pack was the strongest wolf pack in the world and possibly one of the biggest in the country. This wasn't going to end well for anyone.
