Song of the chapter: Original Me BY Yungblud
Kate's Pov
Drenched in water, I stood up. Body aching and head giving my the migraine of my life. My opponent across from me. I slicked my hair back with my hand and groaned, irritated as I would ever be.
The time was 9 p.m. and I was currently in a clean dojo fighting an opponent until, as my current teacher said, til I pass out. My teacher actually was the person I was fighting at the time, since he was my personal assigned martial arts teacher, they had to do all they could to teach me everything until I had to leave. Which at that time was around two months, so not that much time to get me to be as prepared as I can.
Dark eyebags adorned my tired eyes as they dazed out the car window. My backpack on my lap, ink leaking down it from small notes and signatures of my family members to remember them by while I'm literally across seas.
That day was the day that I left everything I knew and went somewhere I don't know and think I barely know the language of. Great! :)) Overall, everything was pretty stressful and sad since I was going to leave my family, but everyone was really tired, especially me at the moment. I was training physically, learning a new language and mannerisms, plus I had to keep up with normal classes.
I sighed, exhausted. Leaning into the leather seat behind, I waved my hand at my face, trying to bare the heat. As said in the media, and surprisingly correct, Italy is hot as fucking hell, especially in the south since it's closer to Africa and such. Using my quirk was the main way to bare the heat, but being literally boiled in a metal box crowded by family members won't be fixed by simply chilling out.
We had to drive from Sicily all the way to Calabria, a drive from 5 to 6 hours, which meant we had to start driving from around 1 or 2 a.m. to have some extra time before the flight which was planned to be at 6 a.m.. Over all the time from home to the air port and the loud talking and sleeping, it was a nice way of saying good bye, though it was hot and stuffed, it was nostalgic in a way.
Going through all of the transportation and flight stuff was kind of boring, but it was nice to spend a bit more time with family, so that was a pro to a small con. Though, when the flight boarding actually started, that was when the sad part started. We didn't have much time to say good bye, and I bet people thought we were being dramatic, since the boarding was beginning for the first class people and we had plenty of time, plus we were going to see each other again. But we spent that time together like it was the last time, and it was nice, calming even. To have my family being proud of me as I go was one of the best feelings I could ever feel.
The plane was filled with all sorts of people with all sorts of quirks; it was exhilarating! Grinning like an idiot, I made my way to my assigned seat and looked around.
The seats, the buttons at everyone's top, the people there! I felt like I was going to squeal, I was so excited. I hadn't met many people back in Sicily and I was happy to go out and see what the rest of the world had in for me.
I tried talking to the person sitting next to me. "Hello! Do you want to talk fer' a bit?" Talking a bit too fast, my words jumbled together, my accent clear.
The woman smiled at me nervously. Before I could say anything she mumbled something in Japanese. "Oh dear, I'm real sorry. I don't know what your saying. I'm sorry, miss." Her voice was soft, mother like and sweet.
She was a short, stout woman with straight dark green hair with a side bang and big green eyes. She wore a yellow flower printed button up blouse with a soft folded collar and a long, white flowy skirt. She looked like she was around my aunts age and had a soft face.
