Y/N P.O.V. Location: Night Raid Base - Meeting room.

Long story made short, after several training sessions with Akame and Bulat, it was nothing but bad news from there.

We've lost contact with the local team, we just got the official reports that Esdeath has returned to the capital, along with her three personal nightmares, who are the primary suspects in a recent string of murders that they've been framing us for.

One thing's certain: Esdeath takes her orders from the Prime Minister, and the three posers take their orders from her, and the dead people were among the few that unsettled the Prime Minister. Meaning the puppetmaster's having his enemies picked off one by one, and having us take the fallout.

It's smart, I'll give him that, but it's not exactly believable. We've been against the empire from the beginning. Granted, we did them a favor with Zank, but there was a greater risk in letting Zank roam free than there was in offing him.

There's also the ever-present possibility that this could be a trap, and this is just the bait to lure us out into the open, but there's a risk that comes with not taking it - the people that unsettled the Prime Minister were all opposed to him, and genuinely cared for their country. We're going to need people like that once out mission is over - we're going to need them once Honest is gone. We have to do something before all of them are snuffed for good.

...that, and the thought of these posers using our fair organization's name makes me feel physically ill.

Four of us were picked to protect a particular two. Akame and Lubbock are shadowing one of them. Bulat and I are being sent to a luxury cruise liner to ensure the safety of the other. We leave at dawn.

As for Leone... I hope her task doesn't provide any trouble.

THE NEXT MORNING...

I am the nervous master of a wealthy family who is somewhat unnerved by how fancy this place is. That is my cover story, and I'm sticking with it.

I feel a hand tap my shoulder, and I don't even need the force to know who it is.

(Y/N) - I remember my cover story, stop prodding me about it. It'll look suspicious if I keep chatting to somebody that no one else can see.

He walks away, seemingly satisfied with my answer. The mass amount of people on the shore stopped being my problem once we set sail. As for the ones we're supposed to keep an eye out for, it's unlikely that they'd attack in this scenario unless they had an actual plan, and several contingencies. Too many people aboard, and the target is guarded by a cavalry of highly-trained meatshields. With the number of people they've bodied, they'd have to be on par with us, if not stronger.

Thoughts like these run through my mind when a tune pierces through the atmosphere.

Some time passes as the tune goes on, before I realize there's more to this song than anyone here can realize, because everyone around me is unconscious. It's all I can do to keep from crumpling to the ground as I desperately fight against whatever power the song has.

It's an imperial arms. It has to be.

(?????) - Ah, even after Scream, there's still someone still awake?

I turn to see a large man with a double-edged axe emerge from the lower decks.

(Y/N) - ...fuckin' called it.

I cast my coat aside, and take my saber from my side, taking an offensive stance, and igniting both blades.

(large man) - Ah... That explains it. You're force-sensitive! I'm gonna get loads of experience off of you!

(Y/N) - You one of the impostors using our name to commit senseless murder?

(large man) - Ah! You're one of the real ones! Good...

He takes an offensive stance himself, and invites me to attack.

(Y/N) - Why a fair fight? You had me then and there, why didn't you attack?

(large man) - The more of a fight my prey gets to put up, the stronger I get after the fight. Everyone's out of the way! Let's get this party on!

(Y/N) - ...You asked for this.

I flick my free hand in an attempt to take his head off his shoulders, only for his head to just jerk back slightly.

He grins at me, not needing to speak. Apparently Imperial arms grant some form of resistance to the force.

...And this just became more than I bargained for.

769 words. Could be better, but I need a break.

Holy crap, finally. First chapter uploaded in more than four months.

I'M NOT DEAD YET!

Hey everybody, I don't have much to say about this chapter - I know it's short, but in all honesty, I can live with that. Given that it's the first one in more than four months, I'm surprised I got this far. I hope you all enjoy this chapter, and have a wonderful (time of day)! I'm going to try and get some more chapters in other stories up, given that I now have the time to do that.

It's good to be back!
