Y/N P.O.V.
Location: Northern Capital - Market Square.   Time: Late Evening.

(Akame) - We're in charge of this section.

(Y/N) - I suppose it's a good thing that these people are so scared of Zank. The fact that they're staying inside after dark makes it that much easier to reduce the number of witnesses, and collateral casualties.

I begin to sense five people coming from the other side of the roadway.

The Capital Guard.

(Akame) - What is it?

(Y/N) - Enemy patrol. Into the alley.

We manage to slip into the alleyway before the guardsmen see us. We resume our patrol, and continue looking for Zank.

...Well, now's a good a time as any.

(Y/N) - Can I ask you a question?

(Akame) - Don't worry, I brought emergency rations.

(Y/N) - Not where I was going with that, but okay.

Well... way to think ahead.

(Y/N) - Your sword. It's one of those Imperial Arms, right?

(Akame) - Yes. No matter how small the cut, a cursed poison will effectively destroy the victim's body from the inside out. It's name is Murasame.

I think back to the day we first fought. The only reason I survived was because I was quick to catch the blade with the force.

(Y/N) - Fuckin' miracle I'm alive, then.

(Akame) - I've had this sword for a long time, but it became famous as the one-cut killer a longer time ago. It's how I became so well-known around here.

(Y/N) - Yeah, I heard you were supposed to avoid getting caught... Well, you're not invincible with that blade. There's a few factors to be included, right?

(Akame) - Yes. Cleaning and maintaining it is quite the nerve-wracking experience.

(Y/N) - Gotcha. And it's kinda useless if you can't get past the opponent's armor, or their other means of defense.

(Akame) - Exactly. I try to avoid overestimating the might of the Imperial Arms.

(Y/N) - If all the others are as strong as Murasame, then that makes sense. Some abilities may contradict others.

(Akame) - Exactly.

We continue our patrol.

I have to keep my guard up. I can feel a set of eyes on me. It's not BD-3, and it's not Akame.

Someone is watching us. And they've just disappeared.

We stopped at a bench to rest, and eat. I pulled a box of takoyaki from my bag, and Akame is eating a crepe. Just as I swallow the last piece of takoyaki, I hear a clattering from the alleyway.

(Akame) - Y/N? What is it?

(Y/N) - I'm not sure. I'm gonna go check it out.

I run into the alley to confront whatever is making the noise. What I am confronted with shocks me.

It's... no, it... it can't be.

(Y/N) - Master?

Master Kestis's visage was just as bright as I remember. This is strange... if this is another one of my hallucinations... then why is he smiling?

He turns around, and walks away. Where is he going?

I begin to break into a run. I don't care if this a hallucination, or one of those Imperial Arms. I have to follow.
