JEDDA AHOKA, sat in her gorgeous red Ferrari f50. She waved her hand at the driver behind her, Emilio Ginart, who drove a 8 Nissan 350Z. The duo were making their way to an event that the girl's racing rival, Oregon Fuit ━ full time street racer, cop escaper and New York City's most popular girl driver ━ had organized.
Turning the curb, the girl glanced at the crowd of people that surrounded street racers and their immaculate cars. Everyone wished they had those vehicles. But only ones who were capable of taking care of it as much as Jedda, could.
"Hey, Alec!" Jedda called to her teammate. His dark eyes lingered toward her opened window, suddenly flashing her a bright grin.
"Jedda! The race starts in about five minutes, get lined up, yeah?" Alec Suco stood beside her car, letting his finger trail along the beautiful red coat.
"Hey don't touch that! It's a new coat!" Jedda slapped away his finger, making the dark haired boy frown sarcastically.
"Remember, the turn at the end is real' hard. Slow down a little to make it, alright?" Alec is known for being the brains of the operation, always knowing what's happening next.
"Nah, totally rush it and smoke the other drivers behind ya!" John Karrass, the girl's other teammate, also known as the brainless one, came trotting over toward the two.
Alec shot him an angry glare, using his elbow to hit him right in the stomach!
"You don't tell the driver to do that! She'll end up swerving into the side and ruining her baby!" Alec hissed at his friend pointing at Jedda's car, then rolling his eyes at the laughing girl, who suddenly couldn't keep her cool anymore.
"Oh come on, man, it would have been epic!" John tried reasoning with his idea, letting his long fingers brush through his silky light brown hair.
"Nah." Both Jedda and Alec said in union.
Interrupting their charismatic chat, the trio turned their heads toward a roaring engine that stopped beside them. Oregon Fuit's Lamborghini Huracán. The blonde, with the sharp green eyes, rolled down her window and sent the group of friends a wink that could make anyone fall to the ground.
"You think you can beat me with that thing?" Oregon scoffed, tightening her fingers around her leather steering wheel.
"Of course! A classic car's got power too, you know?" Emilio said as he pulled up beside her with his own vehicle. He raised his dark brow, letting his blue eyes steadily look into hers.
"Hah!" Oregon scoffed once more. "Let's see about that, shall we? See you at the starting line, rookies!" She waved menacingly, before pressing on the gas and creating a loud roarrrrr!
A heavy hand landed on Jedda's shoulder, as she bit her lip frustratedly. "She's just jealous of your skills, Leopard." Alec told her, staring at her with as much intensity as Oregon.
"She's not even a cat, Alec." John stared at the smarty-pants ahead of him.
"It's a nickname you, idiot!" Alec clapped his right hand at the back of John's head, letting a whimper spill out of his friend's thin lips.
Jedda looked over at Emilio and sent him a small signal with her hand, letting him know it was time to head off to the starting line.
Pressing the gas, the girl made her way toward the black and white checkered line. A girl with flags and a bright red t-shirt that said OREGON RACES on it, waved her flags in her hands, signaling to get ready.
Jedda stared at Oregon who sent the girl a wicked smirk, roaring her engine like a showoff. And Emilio, laced his fingers around his older steering wheel, letting the tips of them brush along the ripped material.
"Ready!" The woman with the flags started yelling.
"Set!"
Jedda sent Alec and John one last glance, as they stood in the crowd, throwing their arms in the air, cheering like crazies.
"Go!"
Emilio managed to go first, passing Oregon who had taken the second spot! Jedda pressed the gas at a quick rate, zooming past a guy's black Toyota Supra MK IV, who seemed to have some trouble controlling it.
Emilio started falling behind Oregon's green Lamborghini, who made lots of noise through the streets.
Crossing a cross road is when street racing becomes passionate, fun and overall amazing. The racers made their way on New York's busy streets, where they had to dodge normal people driving their cars!
Yes, everyone doing this race was doing it illegally.
Jedda glanced at Emilio's car as she passed it, getting into the second spot of the group of 26 cars! Now, the only one she had to get to was Oregon.
New York City's darkness was overpowered with city lights and car honks as Jedda sped down Main Street! She swerved a few cars and thanked the universe for tinted windows. If not, someone might have seen her face and she would have most definitely become wanted.
Bringing her window down, as she drove right beside Oregon, the girl made sure to try to distract her.
"Oregon!" She screamed over the (almost) non-existent mufflers.
The blonde brought her window down in excitement, knowing that what Jedda was trying to do was obviously not working on her.
"Nice try, Ahoka." She hissed, before pressing the gas harder than before, and passing the finish line!
Jedda gasped as she had come second place once more! She had distracted herself, trying to distract her rival! Every year, she would come second against Oregon Fuit. It was almost like there wasn't any competition at that point. Oregon would always win, no matter what.
Slowing her car down, the brunette banged her head against her steering wheel in frustration. She brushed her hair behind her ears, before stepping out of her Ferrari.
Emilio came slowing down beside her, blocking the rest of the cars to park beside hers.
"You almost had it!" The boy tried assuring her, using a happy tone. He walked over to her quite hesitantly.
"I'm never gonna win, it's like she's a goddess in this sport!" Jedda looked away shamefully, staring at the drift marks.
"I mean, yeah she is, she's won every time." John said, approaching the girl all dreamily.
Jedda sent him a burning glare that could almost kill.
"John, not helping." Emilio sighed, before grabbing the girl's chin to make her look at him.
"You will win, you will."
Jedda raised her gaze to his blue eyes. "But how?"
Emilio smiled brightly. "We'll train you even more than we ever have. Get you a new car, and beat the witch next year!"
Jedda raised her eyebrow at the black haired boy, her eyes narrowing in a daring manner. "Uhh, you know how Azura's gonna react to spending a large amount of money for one single race, which is next year!" The girl protested, speaking about her best friend.
Emilio rolled his eyes, before placing both of his hands on her shoulders. "Just, trust me."
"When do we start?" The girl asked, almost impatiently.
"Bright and early, tomorrow mornin'."
