DIXIE SLUMPED AGAINST the bar counter as she started her break. Her afternoon shift was the busiest that week. She wiped her forehead with her hand and sighed deeply. Her eyes zoomed around the cafe.
She had to admit. She wanted to see that gorgeous stranger again and smell that oh so wonderful scent. She didn't know why but she was getting restless at the distance between her and the stranger.
She wanted to believe that she was just crushing on some random stranger like she usually did, but there was no one she felt more attraction to then him. Addison had also been feeling the same.
However when she had seen the handsome stranger, she of course thought he was beautiful, she just didn't crush on him. However his companion she swooned over.
She described the dark haired, built man as the two were getting ready in the morning. And she had also smelt such an alluring scent as she walked by.
The two were quite confused at their reactions. The most they would feel for a beautiful humor was a little butterflies, and then they would carry on with their day.
And so then, Dixie's entire break was wasted on her pondering about the stranger and was only released from the day dreams grasps when Sasha snapped her fingers in front of her face.
"You alright boo?" she asked. Dixie looked into her hazel eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just distracted," Dixie replied.
Sasha nodded but gave her a doubtful look. "Well your shifts starting so I suggest you get to it. Table 3 needs cleaning."
Dixie whipped out her cleaning supplies and cleaned the table.
She had just put the rag into her apron when the door jingled and she inhaled the amazing scent. She whipped her head up and found herself staring at the addicting profile of the mysterious man.
He was accompanied by the man from yesterday and she looked at Addison to see her staring at Dixie.
They exchanged a mental conversation. Then Addison nudged her head towards the duo and Dixie realized she was the only free waiter.
She put away her cleaning supplies and got out her notepad. With trembling fingers and a tiny voice in her head cheering her on, she sulked over to the men.
She slid a fake smile over her face trying to disguise her nervous expression. "Hi, I'm Dixie! Would you like a booth or a table?"
"Booth." the man said shortly. Dixie was taken aback at his bluntness but led him over to a booth.
At least he wasn't a psychopath and chose a table.
They sat down. "So can I get you any drinks to start with?" Dixie asked giving them menus.
"Water." the handsome mans companion blurted. Dixie nodded and walked away.
"So, were you nervous?" Addison asked once Dixie had made a request for two cold waters.
Dixie gave her a bewildered look. "Nervous? I was terrified!"
Addison laughed. "Oh you won't be laughing when one day they come up to the bar and you have to deal with them," Dixie warned. Addison just smiled and shook her head. But inside she knew that she would react the same, if not worse. I mean what could you do when you were serving two handsome people which one of them you were deeply attracted to?
Not much according to Dixie.
Soon, Dixie served the men their drinks and received the orders. She slipped on a fake smile and greeted some new customers.
***
Dixie had just bid some new customers goodbye when she heard a deep voice, no mistake it was the hottie, call out for a check.
Dixie was confused. All they had ordered were waters and a side of fries. And it wasn't even like they had something to discuss. They had spent the entire two hours in the cafe staring at her and Addison and muttering a few words in between.
However Dixie wasn't one to judge others so she simply printed out their check and left it on their table. She waited patiently as the mans companion tapped on the small computer screen to pay. He slid the car in his wallet and Dixie smiled.
"Well, I hope you enjoyed your time at the Rainforest Cafe! Have a great day!" Dixie bid as the two exited the store. However there wasn't much of the day left as it was already 5:30.
Dixie sighed deeply as she watched the men turn the corner and disappear from her sight.
"Ooh, is somebody sad that there oh so handsome boyfriend is leaving?" Addison teased, poking Dixie's stomach. Addison had just started break and was sipping on a strawberry smoothie she made herself.
Dixie rolled her eyes playfully. "First of all, I don't even know his name. Second of all, I'm not sad, just curious. Third of all, mind yo business woman!"
"Well their check is right there. Even if the companion paid, he still had to sign with his legal name, therefore we will know who he is. Then I can stalk him and we can find out who the other person is. Then we can find their schedule, where they work, siblings, close friends identities and make friends with them. Then we can meet them through the mutual friends. And we will finally know why we're both so attracted to them. And don't lie to me Dixie Jane D'Amelio, I know you have a crush on him." Addison ranted barely taking a break for air.
Dixie blinked, processing the information.
Yep Addison was that friend.
That meaning that one friend who had the skills of an FBI investigator, minus all the equipment and technology. Leave that girl with as little as a description of what they look like, give her a phone, and at the end of the day she'll have more than enough information to write a detailed and thorough biography.
And she could do it all undetected. Meaning that the person would never know that Addison was ever on their social medias. She had multiple fake accounts and she usually used those, so incase she accidentally did like an old picture, they would never know it was her.
"Well, what are you waiting for, Dix? Go get that check!"
Dixie sighed but looked around and sprinted towards the check. She grabbed the pen and scribbled down the man's phone number and name on her forearm and returned in a flash.
"Bryce Hall," Addison read out. "Ooh, even his name is hot!"
"Will you have it ready by tomorrow?" Dixie asked, very much sounding like a drug dealer.
"Yep, I'm visiting my parents tonight so we can meet tomorrow after work."
"Y'all! I've been calling you forever. Addison there's tons of people at the bar and Dixie, there's tables to be cleaned and customers to be served. Get to your job or you won't have one!" Their manager, Thomas, snapped at them.
Addison and Dixie nodded and got to work.
