He could tell something was off, and though there was no exact evidence to prove that there was, he could just sense it. He felt insane, thinking he could tell that something was wrong, but he decided that he'd rather feel insane than have your life be at risk because he refused to follow his instincts.

Bucky fished his phone out of his pocket and dialed the first number he thought of.

There was a dull throbbing pain in your neck when you finally came back to consciousness, silently cursing yourself for sleeping on the couch as you moved to push yourself up.

You were stuck.

Your eyes fluttered open, your bleary vision only being able to make out that wherever you were was unfamiliar to you. You tried to reach up and rub your eyes, but your hands stayed where they were.

It was then that you realized that your arms were suspended above your head.

"Finally, you're awake," a voice hummed gleefully to your right, footsteps reverberating off of the plain concrete walls as someone made their way over to you. "We were worried that we may have given you a bit too much."

A man stepped into your field of vision, his eyes dark and hollow as they searched your face. "Too much of what?" you rasped, your breath coming out in shallow pants as your chest constricted with fear.

He grabbed your face in his hand, squishing your cheeks with a malicious grin. "Nothing you need to worry your pretty head about. Let's just say, it's a good thing that you already can't handle your liquor."

Your breath caught in your throat. "You drugged me?"

"Drugged is a strong word, it's more like..." He pulled his hand from your face to make a small flourish in the air as if trying to grasp the words he was trying to find. "Lowering your inhibitions."

"That's drugging, you dumb fuck."

Anger flashed across his face, though a playful smile spread across his lips. "Hm, snappy. I can see why he likes you."

"Who?"

He huffed, rolling his eyes as he walked away from you and over to a table, his back turned to you. "The soldat, the Winter Soldier, the love of your life, the one and only Bucky Barnes."

You laughed at that, shaking your head. "God, you're so fucking stupid."

He turned to arch a brow at you, picking something up off of the table.

"He hates me! If your goal here is to get him to come and save me so you could capture him again, you're making a mistake. You could throw my dead body at his feet and he wouldn't give a shit."

The man's jaw tightened, turning back around to face you and clasping his hands behind his back. "Why do you say that?"

You sent a glare his way, trying to steady your breathing as he stepped closer and closer to you. "You think I'm gonna share the details of my personal relationship with you? Ask my goddamn therapist if you care that much."

He let out a hum, eyes scouring your form. "You say he won't come for you?"

You nodded, rolling your shoulders in an attempt to relieve some of the ache.
