HTTYD: Hunters and Vampires

The Banished

Harren hid under the bed when he saw the old lady walk towards the house. He saw her hitting the poor guy Harren managed to knock out

Harren smirked at the thought that he actually was able to knock an opponent three times bigger than his already big father

He just daydreamed a little bit and unaware that a hand was already grabbing his left leg and dragged him forcefully out under the bed

Harren attempted to scream but he already used is energy just by attempting to do it

'what a weak fool' he said to himself already giving up

"Stubborn one eh?" The man who dragged Harren earlier suddenly said atv the same time laughing

"I like this kid Ginger!Ha Ha!" He said to the elderly woman now called Ginger

"Stop it Erwin! You are hurting him!" Ginger said at the same time the man Harren knocked out was already awake

"Let me go! You ruthless vampires!" Harren managed to scream for the first time

The man he just stabbed in the leg laughed in disbelief ignoring the pain in his wound

" You really thought this beautiful face of mine is a vampire!?HAHAHA" the man exclaimed and laugh pointing at his face and his wound

" You see,that silver toothpick you used to stab me is useless" he said now acting serious

"No little brat is gonna be able to kill the great Alfred the Tremble!" The man said claiming himself to be Alfred the Tremble

Erwin released Harren and pushed him towards Ginger

"Come here little boy,I'll show you something" Ginger said with her soothing voice at the same time guiding the confused Harren outside the house

Harren looked around the place and was already convinced when he saw the kids with the same age as him in there happily playing with no worries in their eyes

He noticed all of the kids but there was one in particular that catched his attention the most

It was Helena, the girl with a straight and long black hair that goes all the way to her waist

The girl also looked back at him that made Harren stop looking and blushed

Ginger noticed this and laughed playfully

"A few minutes in this camp and you already caught some attention little Harren" She added

Harren just looked down and made a "hmph!" Look at Ginger

"Who are you people anyway?" Harren finally asked trying to change the situation

"Glad you asked little one" Ginger calmly said and with confidence she added

"We are the Banished" she said

Harren looked confused and just nodded

But what Ginger said next changed his life forever

"Your mother is the reason why we are here" Ginger said with sadness in her eyes

"She's dead when she gave birth to me that's impossible" Harren said angrily at Ginger for using his mother for her lies

"Your father banished these people because we were tasked to protect her and we failed" Ginger answered

Harren cried in disbelief not agreeing with Ginger

"Dad won't do such thing!" He angrily said again

Ginger caressed his head and soothed him

"Also your mom is not dead,she was just taken" Ginger said trying to brighten up the situation

But Harren chose not to believe her and answered straight

"Vampires don't take prisoners" Harren said to Ginger causing her to be afraid of what happened to the boy's head after all these years

A few days have passed and Harren grew a liking to the people of The Banished

He even made friends with Erwin and Alfred, the guy he knocked out

Alfred also remarked Harren's performance at knocking him out saying that he could be a great fighter

Harren also made some goals with him along the way

He now believed that his mother is alive but not well in the hands of the vampires who captured her and that made him even more determined to get stronger to kill vampires

"The enemies we have right now are not purely vampires, they are hybrids of vampires and werewolves,forced to breed that's why they can withstand sunlight for about an hour or two without experiencing a burning sensation" Ginger said in front of her class which includes Harren, Helena and other kids

"Vampires are also scared of ginger for some scientific reasons-" she didn't completely said the statement when a girl from the back raised her hand

"Oh yes Miss Chelsea?Any concerns?" Ginger asked the girl who raised her hand named Chelsea

"Is that why vampires are afraid of you Miss Ginger?" She asked and the whole class laughed that made Ginger also laugh at her joke

"You got me Miss Chelsea, now we called those things Vamwolfs because they are obviously a mixture of a vampire and werewolf" She added

Harren took notes of this in his trusty diary that made Helena as his seatmate grew curious at him but didn't show it

"This is why silver is somewhat effective to them for they have the same dna as the werewolves, but the most effective way of killing them is to behead them" Ginger said as she made herself act as the vamwolf and playfully slitted her throat with a pencil

The classes ended and Harren immediately ran to Erwin's house to train for his fighting skills

Unknown to Harren,Helena has been following him

There, Helena saw him taking punches and kicks from Erwin earning Harren some bruises and bloody knuckles for punching the ground instead of Erwin's face

She saw him not give up and tried his best even though at the end of the day, he failed to land a single blow

The night came and everybody except the watchtower are sleeping, when an army of flaming arrows landed on the camp of The Banished, waking every people to put out the fire

As they put out the fires, all the residents hear growls in the trees that covers their camp and shadows that are fast approaching

Everyone knew only one word for this time

"Blood"
