"This is Aoba?"

We passed through a town loudly celebrating the retorn of their lord – and were greeted by a truly picturesque castle.

Masamune

"Your mouth's hanging open, kitten."

Masamune gave my jaw a teasing nudge. But how else was I supposed to react to such a beautiful sight?

Following our successful escape from Nobunaga, we'd regrouped with Yojiro and Masamune's other vassals on the road.

Then we all made the journey back to Oshu, Masamune's province, together.

Mitti

"You really rule all this land-?"

Masamune

"Thought I was making it up?"

He laughed, raising a provocative eyebrow.

Masamune

"Well? It's a good province, isn't it?"

Mitti

"It is. It definitely is."

(Everyone is overjoyed to have Masamune back. It's in every face.)

(He's truly loved. Wherever he goes.)

I felt such pride at that.

(And starting today, I'm one of Aoba's happy residents!)

(I'm hoping I can build the same kind of bonds here I had with the guys at Azuchi.)

I'd gotten along fine with Masamune's vassals so far. And besides, I had an ace up my sleeve-

...I loved Masamune at least as much as everyone here.

(The gates are opening!)

At the head of the party to welcome him back was a familiar, friendly face-

Kojuro

"There you are, my lord. You're finally back."

Masamune

"Kojuro! Good to see you again. Thanks for holding down the fort!"

Kojuro

"I'm pretty sure it would fall apart without me, my lord, so there's no need for thanks."

Masamune

"Sounds like I trained you well."

(...Huh? What's Kojuro doing over there? I could have sworn he was with us!)

I looked around, but, indeed, he wasn't. Come to think of it, I hadn't seen him in a while. I asked Masamune about it-

"...Oh yeah. So those preparations I told you about? I sent Kojuro back early after our little skirmish with Kenshin."

Mitti

"I see. Still, I figured since he's your head vassal, you'd have wanted him at your side."

Masamune

"Kojuro's not just my head vassal, he's my castellan. Not that different from a chatelaine, if you think about it!"
