Andy + Laurie Barber one shots

𝟎𝟐 | 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮

a/n; after losing laurie , Andy finds it hard to move on.

After the loss of his wife , Laurie , Andy would barely move or have the motivation to do anything. His son, Jacob tried his best to help him and get him to do something even if it was small to get his mind off things , but it had been days and Andy still didn't move for his spot. "Dad, I brought you to eat something" Jacob said and gave him a plate. He looked at his son and his eyes were lifeless. "You have to do something or at least eat" Jacob said, and then left to give him  some privacy.

"Come on!" Laurie laughed "where are we going?" she asked as his hands were still on her eyes covering them "I told you it's a surprise" he said laughing "I just want to know, are we there yet?"she asked "soon" he replied. "Okay okay we are here" he said five minutes later he took his hands of her eyes. "What's that?" she asked softly as her hand rested in her five month belly.

"My way of telling you, I love you and" he said as he got down of one knee "asking you to marry me" he said "yes!" she smiled softly "I didn't even asked you yet" he commented, "doesn't matter! It's a yes from me!" she laughed and he placed the ring in her finger hugging her. " I love you" they said at they same time

That was 14 years ago. When they found out about her pregnancy they were happy because they were like practically engaged. But their marriage happened soon and it's was practically one of the best days of their lives. Months later they welcomed jacob and they both got a job at Newton and decided to settle down there.

"I really love our life here" she told him one night as they were laying down on the bed, her head on his chest and his hand caressing her back,slowly. "Me too" he said softly "I love you" he said looking at her with an affectionate smile " I love you too" she smiled.

Things had gotten hard , the moment Jacob was accused with murder. It's not like they drifted apart more like they weren't like they were before. But they still loved one another.

When Jacob's trial was over and he was proven innocent, they decided to do their vacations in Mexico and after that they would move. Maybe New York? They weren't sure? All they knew was they wanted a fresh start.

"Andy" the officer who happened to be his friend said " she passed" she continued "I'm so sorry" she said. " she um also happened to be pregnant" the officer said. "They baby didn't survive either" "I'm sorry Andy" the officer said giving privacy to him and his son.

Jacob, that was a whole another story. He was still recovering. He had the help of his dad and also his therapist, but loosing his mom hit hard. He understood why his father had took it so bad. His parents had been together for the most part of their lives and they were happy.

"So what about New York?" he asked as they were in the bed. "Mhm it's nice, maybe I will get the chance to work again. I miss it"  she shared "sure thing, it would be good to see you back at your element" he said and she smiled softly. "You have you found a office yet?" she asked "not yet" he said caressing her back slowly. " I wanted to make sure you were on board with that" he said "of course I'm love" she said softly and gave him a peck "now come on cuddle me I wanna sleep and you're pretty warm" she said and he laughed "okay okay come here" he said and wrapped his arms around her waist to keep her close. "Night Laurie" he said "night" she smiled.

"Hey Jake" Andy said as he went to his sons room. "Dad" he said and hugged his dad tightly. " I'm sorry wasn't here" he said "it's okay dad" he said you're here now, I love you dad" "I love you too." Andy said.

"Who loves Jacob?" "Daddy does" he could hear both voices so clearly that they seemed real. Both 3 year old Jake and 14 year old Jake.Tears in his eyes, he went on"And how much does Daddy love Jacob?" He could almost hear the laughter and that playful eyeroll of both younger Jake, and eternal Jake. (For him, there was no way he could say final Jake). But he could hear the voices intermingled in the clouds" Too much!"

After that day they would visit Laurie's grave a lot. Tell her how their days went and share stuff. Andy would sit there hours and talk to her. Like they used to do when she was still here.

Andy didn't have any relationships or get married after her, but Jacob as he got older got married and had a daughter which he named after his mom. Andy held his granddaughter for the first time and she looked exactly like her grandmother. "Hi sweet girl" he smiled down at her and his granddaughter looked at his with big eyes teacher her small arms to him and she held his finger in her tiny hands.

And Laurie would look down at them and smiling softly as she saw her husband and son happy again. And mostly her when she saw her granddaughter wishing she could meet her. Maybe in another life. she thought.
