"H-Hyewon I think that's enough."

Taeyong tried to calm the girl but her rage was blinding her, her eyes only set on Han Soo.

"Mr Kim please continue."

The screams coming from him were agonising and painful, never had he imagine that he would lose his fingernails this way.
She pushed herself off the wall to stand in front of him. "You can't possibly not know why you did what you did."

"I don't know," he choked out, his voice becoming hoarse. "I really don't know."

"Ms Jang I think he's going to faint."

"Ugh fine, clean him up and bring him back to the station."

Taeyong sighed, walking up to Hyewon. "Why are you so angry?"

"Cause he's not talking!" she exclaimed, indignantly gesturing towards the debilitated Han Soo being brought out the door.

"Go find something to do to calm yourself, go talk to a friend or something."

"You know I don't have any friends," she said as she headed out of the room, the smell of blood starting to irritate her more than she already was.

"Yes you do."

"Who?"

Taeyong followed her down her hallway, giving her a cheeky smile.

"Haechan."

She rolled her eyes at the sound of his name. "Oh please."

"Oh come on I saw y'all the other night," he teased, knudging her shoulder.
She internally face palmed herself, her mind going back to the night where Donghyuck hugged her, embarrassed that someone spotted them.

"Look I was just comforting him okay?"

"Well whatever you say," he shrugged, making his way out her front door.
"Anyways, I'm going to bring our dear Han Soo back. I'll see you soon."

Hyewon waved him off before her guards shut the door. She dragged her feet upstairs and to her room, feeling more drained than usual.

When her head hit the pillow, it was like she could fall asleep at any moment. Having to deal with so much in the past few weeks was exhausting and she had been longing for rest, but her mind keeps unvoluntarily going elsewhere.

Her eyes travelled to the hoodie that was hung on her chair.

"Ah I haven't returned it."

Pulling out her phone she clicked onto Donghyuck contact, not being able to recall when they had exchanged it.

Jaemin's friend

Hi are u ok?

Hyewon groaned and tossed her phone onto the bed after sending that text, not sure why she even did send one.

She still wasn't even sure what to feel about the hug he gave her.

The girl hadn't actually got one in quite sometime. It was nice being held after so long, makes one forget that they're lonely and she would definitely be lying if she said she didn't like it.

It was another chilly night.
His room light was still turned on so she decided to head in, his guards giving her a little nod of acknowledgement.

It felt different.
Everything was just so quiet, especially without Jaemin.

"Donghyuck?" she called out as she headed up the stairs. "I'm here to return your stuff and uh," she paused momentarily, "to check on you I guess."

She reached his room, lightly knocking on his door. There was no answer so she turned the doorknob, questioning if the boy was even home or not.

"Donghyuck you okay?" she asked as soon as she saw him just standing by his window. He didn't answer her though, continuing to just stare out into the sky.

She softly closed his door, not wanting to startle him.
"I'm just here to return your hoodie. It seemed expensive so I hand washed it and-"

"Just leave it on my bed."

His voice quavered as he spoke and she could hear his breathing become shorter, a couple of soft sniffles here and there.

She carefully stepped towards him, gently making him face her. Unknowingly, her heart began to hurt as she observed the state of him.

"What's wrong?"

His head hung low, his hood casting shadows over his face but she could tell that he was crying. He avoided eye contact with her as his hands pulled the strings on the inside of his pockets.

"Nothing."
He walked to the other side of his room, ignoring the worried looks she was giving him as he opened his door. "Please leave."

"But you're not okay."

He sighed. "I'm perfectly fine so you can go."

"No you're not, I want to help you."

"You want to help me," Donghyuck chuckled, finally making eye contact with Hyewon and she could clearly see the redness in his eyes. "Why in the world are you trying to help me?"

"I mean, we're friends I-"

"No we're not."

He cut her off once again, making her regret what she said as her throat started to constrict.
He was so focused on wanting to hide his own feelings that he didn't realise he was hurting hers, not even noticing the tears that were welling up in her eyes.

"I don't want your help, I don't need your help, we're not friends so please just leave."

Anyone could tell that he probably didn't mean it, that he just didn't want the person he's falling for to see him vulnerable.
Anyone but Hyewon could see that.

" I see."

Giving up on whatever relationship they had, she left his room, not even giving him a second glance.

"Goodnight Haechan."
