Chapter 1--
"Don't worry." She says a little too happy "I know what the perfect gift is, but it will have to wait till after school."
I feel the bracelet go up and down my wrist as we walk back.
Jenn looks back at me smiling.

CHAPTER 2
~Surprise~
Jennifer's Dad wasn't home, so me and Jenn went to my house after school for the 'BIG' news.
We went straight into my room.
My bedroom is a square, boringly white, badly decorated room with only a few pictures of me and Jenn taped next to my bed. (We moved so I haven't gotten to decorating it yet...) There's a window on one end of the room, with a ledge. I alway put a pillow on for me and Jenn to sit on.
Jenn goes and sits on the ledge, watching as I go to my mirror and brush out my hair, since we had rushed to school and I had to brush my hair wet--my hair was so frizzy!
Man, my skin is such an odd color...Not pale, but not dark...Hmm... What was I thinking about?... Goodness, I'm mentally think weird.
I should have tried to fix my hair because I had some odd looks at school today, but I didn't care. All I could think about was the bracelet Jenn gave me.
I finish brushing my hair, parting it in the middle, and turn toward Jenn; who is still sitting on the window's ledge.
We are both smiling at each other. But Jenn's smile then changes to more of a confused look...
"So," I say playfully as I walk over to sit with Jenn. "I saw Jake looking at you today!"
She's had a crush on him ever since he got held back another year in High School. All the girls drool over him! He's not the cutest guy (in my opinion), but he has connections with some kids at College. So this year, everyone is trying to be his "Best Friend" or more than that since he doesn't have a girlfriend.
Jenn likes him because he plays football and he's cute to her definition; tall, thin, brown hair, and dark mesmerizing chestnut eyes.
Jenn wants to live her life to the fullest before High School ends, and in her mind, he's the perfect catch.
I can see her trying no to blush.
"So!" She playfully pushes me. "I saw him looking at you too!"
"Jenn, did you even see me? My hair?! I was a mess! I don't even wear make-up--that's not the point--you know what I mean..." I elbow her. "He was looking AT YOU."
"Yeah... maybe."
Maybe?... She usually has a witty comeback for this kind of stuff...
I notice she see the confusion in my face, and starts to change the subject.
"Livy, when are YOU going to get a boyfriend?"
"OK, first of all, you don't even have a boyfriend, so what does that say about you? And I'm just waiting for the right guy. A lot of these guys are just finishing with their voice changing and having acne--"
"I just need to make sure someone is looking after you." Jenn says as she cuts me off. "And we are going to change that this Sunday!"
I look at her, hoping she's not planning on setting me up on a blind date--because that guy will be very lonely Sunday.
"What do you mean, 'it's going to change Sunday?'" I ask seriously, staring at her like my eyes are made of daggers--Ok, that's a bit mean, but you get my point.
"I wanted to tell you before when we went walking so we could talk it over...But..." She hesitates
"But?"
"Ok so, Jake has a friend that has a girlfriend that has a best friend that I was talking to and said that," She starts to talk really quickly, as if hoping that what she's saying wouldn't be understood by me. "Jake is having a party Sunday and where going."
I jump up.
"What?! You have got to be kidding me! Jenn we can't go! You know how I am around people, and parties... I'm all weird and stay in the corner and don't talk! And you know your dad wont let you go. My parents also said I can't be out past ten. The time we went camping we got lucky."
Jenn gets up. "Please Livy! I really want us to go. You have to go before high school ends and times running out for you. At least meet a guy."
"OK. So how would we get there? My parents are only a few rooms over" I see her eyes light up "I'M NOT SAYING I'm going, but I know you planned out everything. So let me hear it." I cross my arms and sit down on my bed.
Jenn smiles, walkes over to me and sits down "OK so..."
She told me that her dad will be working late and that I'll ask if I can sleep over at her house so she won't feel 'lonely'.
I look at her amazed how easy this sounds. "So what's the hard part?"
Jenn looks at me biting her lip. She takes a deep breath. "We are going to have to walk through the woods."
Yup this plan isn't going to work, even if I did agree to this.
I grab her hand "Jennifer, it won't work. We will be filthy and be the talk of the whole school for weeks. If we get caught I'm going to be grounded for life.. and I can't even stay up after 11pm I get too sleepy; School will be the next day."
I sigh, trying not to sound mean.
"I'm sorry but we will have to wait till college if we want to go." I try to sound gentle.
"I know how much fun this sounds, but all it will be is loud music, Preps which you hate, and girls will be all over Jake, I don't think you will like what you see."
I hope this reaches her...please just accept it... Please, Please, Please.
She crosses her arms, letting my hand go. "Livy, if you don't go I'm-I'm going alone."
My mouth flew open. she has to be kidding me;"Jennifer Casswell! You better not. I will never forgive you."
Jennifer has this smirk on her face. "You owe me."
WHAT is she talking about? My face feels hot with anger. "Excuse me??"
"I gave you my mother's bracelet, that should count as something."
I look down at it feeling like I've been played with so she could get her way. "HERE take it back if that's why you gave it to me"
"No Livy. That's not what I meant. Keep it.I didn't mean that. Its a sign of are friendship. Please Livy. Please..." She looks defeated siting there on my bed.
I try to calm down so I hold her hand again"Jenn. I don't want you to get hurt or in trouble" like she would care if she got in trouble with her dad.
"Livy, I don't ask for much from you, can we do this one awesome thing. If you don't like it we can leave."
She gives me that stupid puppy dog face.
"Jenn, fine...I'm only going to keep an eye out for you, and If anything bad happens I blame you.But you really need to stop it with that face." she smiles.
I nudge her and smile "I really need better friends."
I see her dimples "Good enough for me. I'll keep an eye out for you too. And we will talk over the details at my house."
I walk to my mirror. "Ok. I guess."
What am I getting into?
