The Green Fairy

How dost go this day, amidst the merriment of the Fae?

Elves and Sprites must end their play, whilst the night now melts away...

Like grains of sand in the hour-glass; dew upon the blades of grass

The Queen will now become the prey; the sunlight breaks and points the way

The emerald once clear and bright; had given her the gift of sight

Gathered within this circle rite, her invocation, her Blue Knight

Now obscured by sugared lies, hidden 'neath thy sweet disguise

Vile potion filled with spite veiled within a  milky white

To fight the battle never won; lose the war not yet begun

"Come" she calls to the one, "shelter us from the sun

That burns the forest and the glen, and all the life that dwells within"

Release this deathly poison wrapped in their stories spun

As the sun consumes the sky, sears the image within the eye

Her Blue Knight confounds the lie, as the day turns into nigh

Blessings from the Fairy Queen, her scepter liquid emerald green

Bestows clarity to the wise and removes the veil now from their eyes

Light and darkness within the mixture

Life and death, Green Fairy elixir
