Childhood wish into a fairy-tale (2)

When Shinobu arrives home, "I'll head upstairs to go change into something more comfortable. Get some rest before starting on dinner, okay?" She asked, as Mitsuri nodded happily, adjusting the flower that was tucked behind her ear, in her braids. "Good. Get yourself a glass of cold water, you've stood out under the sun for too long, you might get a stroke."
Mitsuri followed her Lady's instructions, as she strolled into the kitchen with the happiest smile on her face.
"Y'know, I almost thought that Miss Kocho would remain single forever!" She heard someone sigh as she heard a couple of people walk into the kitchen, "Thank god her parents got her an arranged marriage. Otherwise, she might have to spend the rest of her days being looked down upon."
"...what do you mean?" Mitsuri asked, gulping her glass of water as she tilted her head, confused.
One of the other maids gasped, "Oh you don't know?" She questioned, "I thought you knew Mitsuri!"
"...no, I don't think I know." She replied, "What's wrong with Miss Kocho? Is something bothering her? Should I make note of it?"
"Miss Kocho's getting married soon, it's an arranged marriage, you know?" Another maid answered her question, "I thought out of all of us maids, you'd be the first to know about this. Don't you remember all those guests from a few days ago? They're people that are going to be invited to Miss Kocho's grand wedding, it's all to make a good impression."
Mitsuri felt her heart sink with dread—she didn't know about this at all...
"Yeah! It's a good thing that you're such an amazing cook! Everyone left with a satisfied expression that day! It was a sight to see." The maid sighed.
"W-wait, so who—is the groom?"
One of them burst out laughing, "Didn't you just go meet him? Hmmm—Mr. Shimizu, was it?" The other maids nodded in agreement. So... that's why Miss Kocho wanted to go there... They all stared at Mitsuri; waiting for a response. "...hey, why do you look so unhinged?"
"S-sorry, it's just... Miss Kocho never told me that... even though I spent the most time around her..." She seemed down, and so, the maids decided to cheer her up.
"Don't worry, I'm sure she has her reasons not to tell you. Maybe it's so amazing, that it's a surprise!" Her words didn't make Mitsuri feel any better. It was as though Mitsuri's soul left her body, everything just felt so dull after that. She knows that an arranged wedding wasn't what Shinobu wanted, it wasn't true love—and that was what Shinobu was after.
Mitsuri just—she just felt sorry for her Lady. Clearly, it was difficult for her meet with Mr. Shimizu that afternoon, but she couldn't see through her Lady at all.
Why didn't she tell her about this? She thought... that they were close enough for her to tell her important stuff...
Did she not trust her still? It just-- felt so wrong to Mitsuri.
Despite her trusting her Lady so much, she didn't reciprocate the trust back?
"I... I'm drained today. I'll just go back to my room to rest." She muttered out to the rest of the maids, as she took wobblily steps, going around them.
"Ah—that's okay. Uhm, I hope you rest well!" One of them called after her.
She didn't look back, "Thanks." Was her dulled response.
