Alina POV:
My head was laid on the seat and my eyes were closed as I heard the erratic breathing of Tristan. I had went numb a few minutes earlier in, the outside of my body calm while inside, I felt like I was driving myself to insanity.
I was scared what he will find out. At first, I was scared for me, but now....that was even more increased by him finding out.
In less than twenty minutes or so, since I was counting in my head, we arrived at his private clinic as he said.
I didn't understand his reasoning for having so many buildings in different areas, but it was at the very back of my mind at the moment. I had other things to focus on.
My panic was escalated as he picked me up bridal style and walked inside with me.
The moment he walked inside, every single doctor and physician that worked there had stopped to pay their respects and immediately, I was brought to my own private ward where everything would become clear in front of me.
For the first few moments, I let Tristan stay, and the doctor, whom was named Miss. Kathy, ran some tests on me.
The first few were blood tests and then some normal tests as well, including urine tests. After a few moments of checking and re-checking, I had to wait for the results.
But I knew that whatever came next would most probably involve sickness or pregnancy, and I didn't want Tristan here to find out about that if it was true about the second assumption.
Ms. Kathy arrived back after a few minutes which felt like an eternity of waiting. She had the results not only ready for us to hear, but for us to see as well.
My worry and anxiety was the only thing I could feel. Everything was numb inside me, but I could only feel those two emotions. I was scared, no doubt.
And it was all because I gave into the temptation of Tristan, actually, urging him on and assuring its what I wanted. But now....I don't know anymore.
"I have ran a quantitative blood test, which is also preferred as the beta hCG test. Then I had ran a qualitative hCG blood test to see if any pregnancy hormone is present." My breath hitched in my throat when I heard the p- word.
My eyes immediately found Tristan's. His eyebrows were furrowed in confusion as if he didn't understand a word the doctor just said.
"Excuse me, but what?" He asked suddenly and she turned to him, ready to explain everything.
But I didn't let her speak, before I shouted out of apprehension. I just knew what would come next.
"Please wait out there, I want the news myself." I told him, hoping he'd listen.
But Tristan was so lost in curiosity of what's happening, I don't even think he heard me.
I continued to try and get his attention back on me and try to make him leave.
Ms. Kathy attempted to speak again, but I shouted once again. I couldn't let her reveal anything to him.
"Please, Tristan. Just wait somewhere else. I will let you know what is going on with me, just wait out of the room." I pleaded for him to listen. I needed him to.
"But wait....you said something about a pregnancy hormone? What does all that mean. She isn't pregnant." Tristan asked her, making me even more terrified.
I cut in once again. "No! I am not pregnant, okay. It's just something all doctors do firstly. I am not, I am just...going through a phrase." I lied and hoped he'd fall for it.
