**I still need to really edit this chapter but I felt bad for making you wait for so long, so here is the unedited version. Enjoy!!**
Splash!
Eleanor groaned, rolling the sleeves of her white button-up even higher up her arm, attempting to bunch them as close to her shoulder as possible. Why she was even bothering to spare the arms of her shirt, she didn't know. The bottom half of the shirt was already ruined, soaked to a coppery brown from the muck of the swamp water she was currently waist deep in.
"Did you seriously drop your bucket," Lee muttered, side eyeing her from where he stood five meters away, "again?"
"Yes," she hissed in response, "it's heavy. The water makes it heavy."
"Find it," Lee ordered through his teeth. He glanced to both ends of the swamp nervously. "Before they get back."
"What do you think I'm doing?"
The swamp was like nothing Eleanor had ever seen. It stretched across the entire width of the corridor, kissing the edge of the stone walls that encased it as it went on and on, lengthening that of a professional swimming pool. Looking at it from above, it appeared as though the swamp simply skimmed the floor. Eleanor and Lee had both loosened a breath at their first sighting of the thing. They could simply stomp through the thing, mop it away.
But they should have known better. It was Fred and George after all.
They'd enchanted the swamp, of course. And upon stepping in the murky water, they'd both stumbled in surprise, Lee going as far as falling in face first, when the floor didn't meet their feet right away. When the water came all the way up to their thighs.
The further they waded into the water, the deeper it became. At the position in which they currently stood, the water was about one meter deep, coming up to Eleanor's waist and Lee's upper thigh. But much further and they would have to tread water, the floor bed of the swamp no where within reach for either student.
Eleanor was in awe of the magic Fred and George used to create the swamp, even as she cursed them for it. The sheer ingenuity of it all, how they'd thought through every little thing. There were protection charms encased upon the swamp, keeping Umbridge from being able to clean it up with the magic she knew. Eleanor was sure Flitwick could figure it out, even if it took him some time, but this magic was outside of Umbridge's skill level.
Even Eleanor was having trouble figuring out how to unravel this magic. The energy radiating from the swamp was humungous. It would take all her energy to pull it away from the corridor, to consume it. It would be easier to use the actual spell that could undo it.
Alicia would know, but she hadn't been allowed to see Alicia in the three days that had passed since Fred and George's great exit. Not Alicia, not Harry, not anyone. No one except her alleged partner in crime, Lee.
Umbridge had led the pair right to the swamp after the twins' departure. She'd attempted to remove the swamp herself for a little over an hour, sweat gleaming down her forehead as she exerted all her concentration. Lee, at the time, had been doing his best not to laugh at the constipated look on her face. His smile vanished as soon as she gave up on her quest.
"You two," Umbridge had instructed, turning on her heel to face them, face red as a beet, "are responsible for this monstrosity-"
"Professor, I swear on my life, on Harry's life, we didn't have anything-"
"Don't you dare lie to my face, girl," Umbridge snapped, getting in Eleanor's face once more. "Do you believe me stupid?"
"Yes," Eleanor responded blandly. She was already marked for Umbridge's rage, there was no reason to hold back now. "Especially since you refuse to believe us."
