El,
Don't tell Moony this, but I've made a decision; I will be at your graduation, come hell or high water. Will you ask Harry if I can borrow the invisibility cloak? Obviously, I'll be coming as Padfoot, but the addition of the cloak will ease everyone's worries.
If you need any help writing your speech, ask Moony for advice. My personal experience regarding life after graduation was unpleasant to say the least. Maybe suggest they try not to die. Maybe suggest they flee from the country before everything goes to hell.
Your mother gave a speech at our graduation ceremony. I personally thought it should have been James, but he disagreed greatly. Her speech made your father bawl like a baby. He would have cried at yours too. I just know it.
The twins have officially joined the order. They came to a meeting yesterday and yours seemed to be in quite the mood. Anything you'd like to tell me?
Can't wait to see you in your cap and gown. Can't believe you lost Assassins in the end. Pitiful.
I love you very much.
Padfoot
P.S. Don't tell Moony I'm coming to graduation
P.P.S On second thought, don't tell anyone.
Dear Eleanor,
I'm sorry about Assassins. I truly thought you were a shoe in to win. Good for Alfie, though. From what I remember of him, he was a really good kid. Quiet, but smart. I guess those are two qualities that would make for success in such a game.
I wish you the best of luck in your NEWTS. I hope you've started studying by now. If you're still hoping to become an Auror, you'll need top marks, on both the practicals and the written exams.
But with everything that's been going on, I hope you remember that it's okay if you don't get the results you are hoping for. And it's okay if you aren't interested in becoming an Auror anymore. We will support you no matter what path you choose from here. It's been a hard year, but I hope you still enjoyed your last year.
It's a great honor to be chosen to give a speech at graduation. You may not feel that you deserve such an honor, but I know you do. You're one of the brightest witches I've ever known. Your mother must be so proud of you. I know she still watches over us. I feel her presence often, especially when you're near. Your father too. He was such a crier, I'm not sure he would have made it through the ceremony without making a scene. Don't let Padfoot fool you with his tough exterior, he'd cry just as much. Him and James sobbed at Lily's speech enough for me to know he'll be a wreck over you.
And speaking of our dear Padfoot- I know you want him there. I do too. But it's not safe, especially with Umbridge and the Ministry patrolling the halls. You're the only one who can stop him from coming, and for his safety, you need to. I apologize for putting you in this position. I tried to talk him out of it, but I think he was only placating me.
If you need any help studying for your exams or with your speech (I helped Lily write hers), you know where to find me. We can make a study day out of it. Whatever you need, I'm here for you.
With all my love,
Moony
P.S. We saw the twins the other day. I'm sorry they dropped out. I'm sure that was hard on you.
P.P.S. One of them seems to be awfully happy. I hope that means everything has worked itself out since the last time we saw you.
My Dearest Ella,
