Two days later it was finally time;sign up time. I ran there at 5 am ,when it opened. Eliot and Henry were already there waiting for me. We went through the doors and then to the Signup sheet. Eliot signuped, then Henry. Now my turn. I too my steps forward like I was walking on the stairway to heaven. I was just about to grab the pen.
The coach for the high school team walked right in front of me.
I opened my mouth and said" Hello coac-".
"What do you think your doing?" His voice was like nails on a chalkboard, and the growl of a wolf mixed painfully together to create something that wanted to make you cry and run. But I was a hockey player. I don't cry.
"Signing up-".
"Signing up for tryouts? Well sweet cheeks, girls Arn't a load."
All I saw next was Elliot's face as I fell backwards.
