Sundrop
"Mother, look at that!"
Sundrop pointed with her talons to a valley surrounded by two mountains. One mountain had a river that flowed into a waterfall, which dropped into a small pond in the valley. The other mountain was snowy and looked cold, with several cracks in the stone.
"Yes, Sundrop," Taipan said. "This is Endia River Mountain. Like you saw in the scrolls."
Sundrop noticed several adult dragons chatting on a large rock on the edge of a cliff. "Yes, father. It looks exactly like the ones in the scrolls! Hurry up, Mom! I'm going to go say hello to those dragons!"
Without waiting for Scorpia's response, Sundrop dove into the alley, landing on the rock in front of the adult dragons. There were two Nightings, a Skywing and an Icewing.
"Oh, hello. You must be Sundrop." The female Nigthwing shook Sundrop's talon in a comfortable way. "I'm Silvermoon. You should go talk with the dragonets. They are so excited to meet you!" She pointed with her tail to a group of dragonets on a cliff chatting quietly.
"Erm, okay!" Sundrop said. She remembered the legends of Silvermoon, but didn't expect her to be this boring. She wondered if Silvermoon was reading her mind that very second.
Sundrop walked over to the dragonets, who immediately turned to her when she waved her talon at them. "Hello, um, dragons."
There were two Nightwings, who both looked a lot like Silvermoon. The female had silver-teardrops beside her eyes and dark green eyes.
Uh oh. She can read my mind. Urghh, try not to think of anything weird, Sundrop!
The Nightwing next to her had silver eyes, just like Silvermoon's. He had the narrow head of the Icewing, his father, and really nothing else similar to an Icewing. Next to them were two Skywings, one male and one female. The male dragonet had warm amber eyes and red scales, whereas his sister had sparking blue eyes and bright orange scales.
Then, beside them, was her.
The hybrid dragonet with animus powers and extreme seer powers. The beautiful outlook on all the dragons in Pyrrhia. The one who would either destroy the world or save it.
The scrolls were right, she was remarkably beautiful. Her sapphire eyes challenged the beauty of her blended black scales that ligned together with her sapphire scales. She had white wings with dark blue and black dots spotted across them. She was obviously a hybrid, the perfect blend of an Icewing and a Nightwing. She couldn't tell if she looked more like an Icewing or a Nightwing, in fact. Perhaps an Icewing?
Sundrop didn't realize she was staring at her until she shifted uncomfortably out of Sundrop's gaze.
"Now that you're here, Sandwing," the male Nightwing said, who Sundrop remembered as Fortune. "Me and my sisters are planning to escape, and you're going to help us."
"Escape?" Sundrop echoed. "But why? It's so beautiful here." She looked at the beautiful waterfall, finding the noise of it falling comforting.
"You're right about that," Visionseeker said suddenly, looking straight at Sundrop. "The sound is beautiful. Oh, and relaxing."
Sundrop forgot that Visionseeker could read minds. Mother's fault again. She could have reminded me. I mean, that's kinda a big deal! Normal, boring Sandwing here! What other secrets do these dragons have?
"It's boring here," Fortune hissed, flicking his tail. "Anyway, the parents are out hunting right now. We are going to escape, and two of you are coming with us. One of you is staying along with your parents to convince them that we decided to go west. When really, we are going north, straight to the Ice Kingdom."
Sundrop shook her head. She didn't want to leave her parents. Her whole life she thought that the Sand Kingdom was boring, and school was boring, and her 'friends' were boring... but when she thought of leaving her mother and father, especially after all Scorpia sacrificed to raise Sundrop, all she could do was shake her head. "I can't go. I-- I am too close to my mother. I'm sorry."
Fortune shrugged. "Alright, I guess. Then Nimbus and Finch, your coming with--"
"Wait!" The hybrid dragon yelled, her eyes searching wildly at nothing. "I-- I-- I saw it in the future, Sundrop. You're going to regret not coming for the rest of your life if you don't go. You'll live in sadness, and..." she paused, tears swarming her eyes. She held her head as if she had a massive headache, which she probably did.
Sundrop bowed her head. She thought for a long moment. "If that's true, then maybe... maybe I will go."
