Yuko is hurriedly dropped off by her fellow Red Letters on Sheol in an introductory cave where the player can learn the game's mechanics. They explain that they are leaving her behind to begin her first attempt to destroy the VCG while they search Sheol's surface for a safe place to set up their base, somewhere hidden from any potential threats from the Out, so as a result the player never returns to this cave as the game starts somewhere else on Sheol in future runs.
