"Hey man, you goin' to Lloyd's party?"

Jay waved over to Cole as they passed each other in the grocery store. It seemed they had both been shopping for some summer popsicles. Cole drew his attention over to his friend, letting a grin take over his face.

"Wouldn't miss it!" He answered, going over closer to him. Jay and Cole had met in high school freshmen year, along with a few others they had included in the group. Kai- A raging hothead, with a secret sweet side. Zane- A reserved, but kind guy. And finally, Lloyd- The leader of the group, and a little spunky. Along with Jay and Cole, they all made the perfect group to get through high school with.

"So, you uh- bringin' a date or anything? I heard it's supposed to be THE party of the summer. Ya know, a bash to end all bashes?" Cole dragged on, earning a look from the auburn-haired teen. He looked off to the side for a moment, before answering his first question.

"Yeah, I'm gonna ask Nya later." Cole's eye twitched.

"Seriously, man? You're still goin' after her? Kai's gonna be furious if you get within an inch of her."

"Yeah, well!- Kai isn't the boss of me and neither are you!" Jay yelled, a bit loud at that, considering he earned looks from everyone near the two.

"You wanna go?" Cole replied with anger, he also got some looks from the people in the store.

"Yeah, I'm gonna whoop your ass, dirt-for-brains!" Jay began to throw a couple of punches at Cole, who dodged quickly, before throwing a mean punch back at him.

"OW! What the hell, man?" Jay said as he held his side from the punch.

"Hell yeah!" Cole pumped a fist, confidence in his voice— Jay did not look pleased with Cole but did not go for another punch.

"Ok, whatever I'm done with this fight," Jay huffed out and Cole let out a condescending chuckle.

"That's what losers say when they can't even throw a proper punch. You suck." The other snapped at him, rendering him silent.

After the fight between Cole and Jay, they both finished up their shopping and started heading to Lloyd's party. The place was swarming with people everywhere— some swimming, while others were chatting. But amidst everyone, the two boys were able to spot the blond ahead of them.

"Hey, Lloyd!" The black-haired teen called.

Lloyd turned to the two, nodding, "Hey, glad you guys could make it. I mean, this party is something we all were looking for."

"True," Jay nodded his head, looking around, "Speaking of which, where are Kai and Zane?"

"Oh, Kai is—" The blond began before someone shoved past him, causing him to turn and notice a girl with unnaturally red hair walk past him.

"This is stupid," She muttered under her breath, "Why am I even here?"

But before Lloyd could say anything, both Kai and Zane showed— completely soaked from being in the pool as water dripped down their bodies. The messy-haired teen pushed a few strands of hair out of his face as he turned to the three.

"What's up, guys?" He smirked, "Have you guys gone in yet?"

"No," The auburn boy rose an eyebrow, "We just got here, you know!"

Cole rolled his eyes at the loudmouth, "We only just got here because Jay was too busy with his groceries." He huffed in annoyance, "Otherwise, we would've been here earlier."

"More like Cole wanted to start a fight!" Jay shook his head.

"Last I checked, that was you."

The other let out a loud tsk before rushing away from the group, shoving past a girl with silver hair— causing her drink to spill all over another red-haired male next to her, who groaned in disgust.
