I slowly woke up to emptiness next to me. Did Amy leave or was it all a dream? I got up seeing the cloth was gone and my window was now closed. Slowly I walked out and it was silent
"Amy?" I asked looking around. No answer. I rubbed my eyes "must've been a dream" I sighed and went to the kitchen and got cereal and poured my mild then eating it. I kept hearing a slight creak of something and a very low hum. My stomach knotted up as I got up holding a knife out in front of me. I looked through every room nothing so I peered through the window at my porch and there she sat reading a Book with coffee next to her. I did a sigh of relief and walked out slowly so I wouldn't disturb her reading.
"Morning" she said and bookmarked the page closing it.
"Uh..I..uh morning" I rubbed my neck gently and looked at her "was last night a dream or did that really all happen"
Amy looked down slightly "it was real...josh told on me and my parents..." She trailed off
I nodded slowly "oh...I'm sorry it's all my fault"
"No it's not" she waved it off
"Yes it is it's was my stupid act that led up to you driving to my house and then getting In a fight" my voice deepened some
"Well I was the one who was reaching out for a friend..I was the one who followed you to the basketball court and I the one who lead herself back to your place for safety...so it's my fault" she got up slowly and stretched
"you feel safe here?" I asked messing with the sugar
"Yeah your my friend...and I trust you a lot you make me feel safe" she wrapped her arms around me and hugged me and like my awkward self It was too late to hug back "thank you" she pulled away slowly like she wanted to hug again.
